I was just thinking, while samsung has introduced AI on some models of phones and tablets, to wet out appetites, so to speak.

I wonder just how long it will be before it becomes a subscription service, especially as phones can cost over a thousand pounds for a flagship model, as it is. Add subsubscription fees and owning a phone could prove to be a very expensive luxury.
Especially if you add in other areas. Such as film and music streaming, cloud storage is another area. Not to mention network access for calls and emails.
I wonder what others think, just out of curiousity.

I believe their plan is to make Galaxy AI a subscription feature. It was stated somewhere that it will be free up till the end of 2025. They will need to massively improve upon what they have got now and add many more features before I would subscribe to it however.

That's what I was thinking, to be honest . I mean, I've gone some decades without it, so it would need to be value for money and do exceptional things.

Thanks I hadn't seen this, but if there's a buck to be made. Where does it all stop.

I primarily utilize Circle for its search capabilities and the AI-powered editing features within the Gallery. Occasionally, when experiencing moments of leisure, I engage in the translation function to playfully communicate with a Polish colleague during work hours. However, the extent of my usage is limited, and I would require additional practical benefits from the features to justify increased utilization. Additionally, I sometimes employ the AI feature that modifies my writing style for professional emails. However, I have observed inconsistencies in its performance, as I often seek a balance between professional and casual tones. Nonetheless, considering the two-year timeframe for improvement, I remain optimistic about its potential.

If it wasn't obvious, I used the professional setting to change my message. Haha.

Even Google is thinking about a subscription service for there AI features if that's the case it will drive it's customer's away.

Well, it does have its uses. I wonder what's its true potential is. I do think there are elements that will unleash its dark side at some point. Hopefully, there will be some safeguards in place. I'm intrigued by how far it could go. But I see it being a multi tiered system as to what you can afford. Well, that's is already true now, I suppose

Same as everything today. Cash is king. I've gone decades without it, so we'll see where it goes at the moment it's novel.

I'm generally against everything being turned into a subscription model these days. Some services are totally worth a monthly subscription, others not at all.
