I’m setting up my brand new s23 ultra and after I chose my country (United Kingdom), it was asking for a QR code. The box only has 2 QR codes in it (1. For discount to other samsung products 2. For a video chat with a Samsung expert). Both weren’t the QR codes I need. Error msg says Ask your IT admin for the correct code. Wtf is this

No. Its the actual device. I just turned it on then asked for the country. After that, a QR code that doesn’t exist. The only button I have is “back” and to flip the camera to myself which isn’t helpful

Where did you buy the phone from? Go on a chat session with Samsung support or Samsung telephone support this is very likely a faulty unit

Is this by any chance Enterprise edition from your employer? The error message you mentioned seem to indicate so?

I bought it online from Samsung itself. I tried their chat support as well but very slow initially and didn’t respond when I chose the topic that I needed discussing

It loads faster and you get priority when you access chat from within Samsung Internet browser, just try it

The QR code is only supposed to appear after a factory hard reset. You can ignore it by pressing the power button so the phone turns off. Turn phone back on and if should be the normal OOBE setup.

This sounds like it is the google fast pair. This is used to quickly transfer your wifi passwords and google related accounts from your old phone. You use the camera on the old phone to scan the qr code shown on the new phone and follow the instructions ( this assumes the old phone supports the feature) . Once it is complete you then use smart switch or what ever method you want to transfer the rest of data apps etc from the old phone.  However , it it does not support the fast pair service you select  skip button.
