The stuttering video issue has been on every Samsung since Galaxy S4. I've had S4, S7, S8, S21 - they all stutter during video recording. I'm sure Samsung is well aware of the issue but just can't do anything about it, maybe it's too complex and the buyers generally don't care. So it's not that it's been 9 months, it's been years, decades even.

It's a shame for such a powerful device (S23 Ultra). I guess it will be the same with S24 Ultra, so I will not upgrade.... For me it's a big issue, because I can't mix the videofiles from S23U with files from other cameras/phones with correct FPS for video editing, the result is terrible. The files from my wife's iPhone work perfect without any issue. So maybe it's time to say goodbye to Samsung. I can confirm the same issue on previous models, I owned the S2, S3, S5mini, S5, S7,plus S8,S9 plus, S10, S20, S21U, Note 20 and the S23U.

I can confirm the issue still exists with the S24U. Just recorded some footage and getting 29FPS and 59FPS. Video recording is still dropping frames.
I guess this is just an issue that Samsung either cannot or does not care to fix. Might be time to change to a company that has competent video recording. A real shame.

S23 Ultra here and got the same problem. Recording in UHD 4k 60fps hdr10 sometimes runs at 40 fps?!? Turning off Auto fps helps a bit but still isnt perfect. How isnt this still fixed?!?

Can we get this on the news?

I can confirm this issue is still happening in June 2024. Very frustrating as mainly got the S24 for the photo and video quality. I was considering getting a cheaper phone but wanted good video quality for filming holiday videos and even with auto FPS turned off, I'm still getting stuttering video and all different frame rates.

I'm using the S23 ultra and confirm this problem is real. But looks like Samsung will not take a glance at this.
So maybe you guys should SWITCH

Apparently the solution is to disable video stabilization. No more jerking.
But this is not a solution if you do not have an external stabilizer. Anyway, Samsung, please do something 😞
