Hi! I'm looking forward to my S23 Ultra arriving next week. I plan to use Smart Switch to transfer my data from my existing Note10+. My question is: what happens to the data on the micro sd card on the Note? Does SS transfer that too? If so, where does it put it on the internal storage of the new phone. Does it preserve the folder structure and filenames of the card's contents? Or, do I have to transfer that content manually?
Thanks, Steve

If I remember rightly, Smart switch will copy what's on the SD card to the new phone. It has been many years so do check after

If it doesnt just connect to you laptop, copy from there

Some have reported that using smart switch causes issues but I have not had any issues

Thanks guys. Really appreciate your replies. Does it create a new folder just for the MSD stuff on the new phone?

Yes, it will transfer the SD card data to your Galaxy S23 Ultra's internal storage. Don't have idea about the folder names and structure.

Not sure how much smart switch has improved but with the S21 ultra most people who had done smartwitch had issues with their phones.

I personally tend to just back up my photos messages and stuff to Google One and then get them back from there.
I manually install all my apps from scratch as and when needed so never back up my apps or settings.

Just thought if things go pear shaped for you in the future.

Cheers! Maybe I've been lucky but have used SS on about 10 different Samsung phones and a couple of other brands too, and they've always restored everything perfectly! 👍
