Smooth Camera Zoom Transition

With all the work and effort put into making the zoom great and longer shots usable, I think its surely about time that some more focus is put into trying to make the camera look smooth when transitioning between lenses when zooming in for video and photo. Apple has mastered this ages ago and surely its time to at least make it look a bit more smooth.

Doesn't seem too bad to me.
Comparing my S23 Ultra with my iPhone 14 Pro Max.
I guess the iPhone is a touch faster possibly.
But the iPhone zoom selections are smaller than the S23 Ultra, which zooms in further.
I don't think my S23 Ultra transitions are bad and certainly doesn't affect usability for me

Fair enough, I guess your right as at the end of the day I guess it doesn't really matter as it doesn't affect the final image. I'm probably just overthinking it lol

Well there's always room for improvements. So never know for future devices.
They are becoming so refined technology wise, that software refinements are the next logical steps.

I have a strong feeling it will get better after 3-4 updates. I'm really happy with stabilization this year, next year 50mp 3x and 12mp 10x would be awesome

I recently tried this on the iPhone 15 PM and S24 Ultra. This time both have the same 5x telephoto and idk how Apple does it but the transition between lenses is hyper smooth while on the Samsung, it seems it's suffering of something. I also wish Samsung start working on that as it can look pretty bad sometimes (it's really inconsistent and for a phone with a +$1000 price tag, it's unacceptable for me)

Agree, totally garbage when I try to make a video and use the zoom.
