Why have google been allowed to take over my Samsung experience on MY SAMSUNG phone.

I don't want my private text .messages transferring into google RCS by its demanding to be made default messaging app.

It's a Samsung phone, Samsung has native RCS, why are google forcing Samsung to use theirs.

I know Samsung needs carriers to support them, and I see american carriers supporting google, but the shock is whilst being told that carrier integration, ( Like Vodaphone buying Three.) gives us more choice, you see Vodaphone supporting google RCS and taking Three with them, plus, it seems like, what was Orange, B T, Tmobile, is now ALL, EE, and they are all up apple and america which are giogle again., now where's the choice in that.

How can I keep my Samsung stuff in Samsung, and use SAMSUNG RCS on MY Samsung phone.

Minimum, how could I keep my Samsung texts PRIVATE, where they belong, and not be robbed of using an RCS messaging service. It SHOULD be Samsung's RCS though, as they already are my messaging service.
Thank you.

@Nimda8  If you To Settings-Apps-Choose Default Apps-SMS App should be able to  ensure  Samsung Messages is the default.  see some information here https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/Default Messaging App

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

You don't have too, just set it to your preferred default setting, i.e Samsung messages.

So change your messages app to Samsung.

That's all you have to do.

Thank you for your replies.

It seems though, if you choose Samsung as your default messager, you cannot use RCS.

You HAVE to let google be your default or no RCS.

Make Samsung your default = no RCS.

It seems unless you let your private text messages be migrated into google messages, you cannot use google RCS.

I don't want google involved, but if I'm FORCED, I want my standard text messages to remain PRIVATELY where they are.

If there was a way to use Samsung RCS, it wouldn't matter about my private messages being integrated because Samsung have that information already.

This should've been so simple, but america wants all our info again.

If I'm being dull here please forgive me, I just want to have my text messages away from google, and have native Samsung RCS.

Or my texts kept separate, and use google RCS, separately.

Every time it says, " Make google default messenger."
If I don't, it doesn't work.
If I do, my private text messages, ie, ALL my years of previous text messages, end up in the google RCS message application open on/to googles servers.
They don't even give a fresh start.

Try it, enable RCS on Samsung messages, doesn't work unless you download google messanger.
When you do it asks to be made default when it is, ALL your previous private text messages are now inside google messanger.

If there is a way I can't see it, but I'm gratefully open to instruction. 🙂

Thank you again for bothering to reply

RCS is a GOOGLE product, not Samsung.

You either have Samsung SMS or Google SMS / RCS.

Those are your choices.

Samsung RCS

https://news.samsung.com/global/samsung-to-expand-its-rcs-rich-communication-services-messaging-serv...

Thank you @Piper123

That has been my experience but it should not be.

It looke like Samsung are being locked out again.

Remember Samsung pay.
Two years ahead in the market, they bought tech that would allow S pay to be used on ANY machine, even if the machine would not accept any other card system, it simply was the best option out there for CONSUMERS, and secure.

To this day only the american two vultures are promoted in the Uk, bar a couple of smaller banks
If you want Samsung, your bank tells you, years later, "If enough people ask for it".
They don't know to "Ask." and years later, why would they change, when most machines have now been renewed, and people who had googapple pushed down their throats, with no option of Samsung are now established customers.

Samsung are big now, but where would they be today if they had not had to fight against the whole of the american finance, tech, and media industry.

It seems the reason we don't have the use of SAMSUNGS OWN RCS is not because the multi millions of Samsung users have rejected their own good, but rather america and possibly apple don't want Samsung having their own baked in messaging app to rival imessage and gmessage.

What could be simpler you buy a Samsung phone, and all the Samsung stuff, provides you all you need.

We had Samsung Cloud, Samsung Pay, and could have had Samsung RCS.

Now american microsoft cloud, american google RCS, and you have to use an app off american google playstore to get Samsung Pay to EVEN work openly.

Its so carefully scripted that even you have neen led to believe that google ARE, RCS.

It's like trying to tell an iPhone user that thinks farcetime is the apple inventing of video calling.
Before iphone was, in 2003 motorolla was doing video calls on three mobile, but, america got the "Buzz" word in and now its all "farcetime."

I'm happy for all other users that are happy with their breed of phone, but i'm not happy of how, the corporations have been allowed to shut out Samsung from any operation that brings innovative leading competition.
I'm glad Samsung have had some patents that could not BE blocked or we would still be staring at three inch massive bezelled lcd screens.

Thank you for you reply @piper123😃

This is bad news, I'm using Samsung messages but am not able to update at the moment due to travelling. I still have chat for now but do not want it do disappear as soon as I get to a decent wifi connection 😢
