Hello @Daio76
I'm not so sure about " iPhone " prices but I do know they typically command a high cost especially for the newer flagship models.
Flagship models of Samsung phone's can also be particularly high dependant on storage capacity and particular model chosen however their are options such as choosing a model via a Monthly Network Contract or by spacing out payments via a finance option or even via buying by a Credit Card.
The prices of phone's can be high due to the continued growth and expansion of these phone's and the technology and support put into them.
Also both Apple and Samsung are a business so will require a profit margin for each phone sold to help finance the next new iteration of phone's and software support along with paying the workforce from CEO down to a cleaner.
There are lot's of phone's sold by Samsung that are mid range models that may better suit a person's disposable income and even though they may not always have the bells and whistles that a flagship model has they still are packed with useful features and functions.

This is one of those 'each to their own' things. Like cars for example: Some cost more, have more features and are more premium, then there are the more budget-friendly options.
You choose what's right for your budget and lifestyle and you can also make use of the second-hand market.
Thanks for your feedback though

Some People will vote with their wallets which has always been the case.
Others save up for their phone of choice or use finance or a mobile phone contract to acquire their phone of choice or as mentioned by @SocietyGirl buy ²nd hand.
I see you keep mentioning an " iPhones " prices. Are you in the market for an iPhone and not a Samsung phone ?

Then don't get an iPhone, or an Ultra. As the poster said above, there are plenty of phones that are much cheaper that will do everything you or anyone really needs from day to day. Samsung themselves have quite a few good options in the A series, or maybe an FE, and if you start looking at other brands there are some amazing phones for half of what an Ultra costs, or less. This might be trickier with Apple but there are options to explore.
If you're complaining about the cost of things rising in general, I hear you and we all feel that pinch but it isn't going to change anytime soon. So you go back to point #1 and find something that works for you. An A series phone that's got what you need. Last year's flagship. Another brand.
Personally I do still like Samsung for the variety of phones and the long term support in software. The others in my family have A series phones and they're great. Nice screens, decent performance, good cameras with OIS, water resistance. My kid's phone cost about a quarter of what my own Ultra cost.
But I got the Ultra because it was what I wanted and I found a decent deal. Maybe when it comes time to get my next phone I won't be able to afford another one. I'll just find something else.
