Your TV may only connect at a particular frequency
2.4ghz should be able to handle pretty much anything a normal user should throw at it
Think how you was able to do anything you do now before 5ghz existed
Also understand that 2.4ghz has a longer range and 5ghz has shorter range yes it is faster to the router but you circuit speed will still be your limiting factor and bottle neck if you hit max throughput

I've tried and splitting does affect speed a little.
Combined, speed is slightly faster.
When I split the signal, my Roku tv apps started playing up 🤷♂️
I'm not actually supposed to be able to split the wifi according to Vodafone (my ISP)

It wierd that you can't see your TV whilst on wireless regardless of networks.
When you don't split the network it just has auto neg on and but devices should be able to connect. Some device doesn't like auto neg on though

No idea if they changed it back or what but I have the latest app and it does allow splitting.
Strange that via ethernet, I had no issue with the wifi combined but now tv is on wifi, combined, I CAN'T smart view
