S23 ultra macro woes

I used an iPhone 14 Pro max for 2 weeks while waiting for this s23 ultra to release and the macro camera on that iPhone is phenomenal. You can literally touch the lenswith something and it will stay in focus. I created some spectacular super-close ups using it, very easily.
This s23 ultra however, is very disappointing. For everything except macro it's very very good but super-macro shots are far from it
The lenses will change on their own just as you get focused on the subject, which is very annoying.
I need to hold the camera quite far away from the subject and use the optical zoom to get a closer shot which doesn't work very well.
Why is it so hard to get this right?
I love samsung phones and if the camera was a good a the iPhone camera, it would be the ultimate perfect phone. But it isn't.
Please try to fix the macro so it's better and more user friendly.

My S23 Ultra, I was surprised at how close I could get to the subject.
Like with the leaf in the photo. The phone was actually touching the leaf.
It will change lens when it gets up near to the subject, the AI automatically adjusts to it.

Last I knew The iPhone could technically focus a wee bit closer than the Samsung S21 ultra.

Also the wide camera was used to focus for the macro and you needed to have the scene optimiser ON for macro to kick in.

Hope this helps you taking good macro shots.

You can see how blurry it is where the leaf is closest to the lens.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Samsung phone but the iPhone camera just blows it away by miles. Try getting a good macro shot of something very small and you'll see what I mean.

This pic was taken on the iPhone.
This coil is 3mm in diameter, very very small. It's also almost touching the camera lens in this picture.
Doing this with the s23 ultra is impossible. FB_IMG_1677771734410_1000002297_1677771734.jpg

I wouldn't say the iPhone blows it away.
First picture is the iPhone 14 Pro Max
The second is the S23 Ultra
The S23 Ultra has a wider field of view. But I don't think they both are too bad
I'm in an office, but with better lighting, I think both would be very good IMG_1728_1000003826_1677771961.jpg20230302_154459_1000003825_1677772031.jpg
