Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
Running in Dual SIM mode UK. I have 2 SIMs installed (EE and iDMobile), with EE(SIM1, fixed contract) as my main for Calls and Messages and iDMobile(SIM2, PAYG) as my Mobile Data provider. If I go to Settings>Connections>SIM Manager I can see SIM1 in slot 1 and in slot 2 it says "No SIM Card" and I get a pop-up message saying "Couldn't connect with SIM. Try again later". If I scroll down further in SIM Manager I come to the heading "Preferred SIMs" and there it displays: Calls SIM1; Messages SIM2; Mobile Data SIM2. My other settings in the SIM Manager are: "Data switching and back up calling" on; >More SIM settings: "Dual SIM always on". When I go back out and swipe down my screen from the top I get the Quick Panel displayed, and there it shows: Calls SIM1 EE; Messages SIM1 EE; Mobile Data SIM2 iD.
My question is: Is the SIM2 active and is my phone using these SIMs as intended?

Thank you very much for your suggestions, I have swapped the SIM cards, so myy EE contract SIM is now in slot 2 and my iD PAYG SIM is now in slot 1, and it all works as it should.

Many thanks again and have a good day!😊😊😊👍

Your eSim would take up the Sim 2 slot facility @dsk05a

The physical sim would need to be in Sim Slot 1.

Sorry let me edit this as I read your post wrong.  Apologies.

If you have two physical sim cards that are active then both should be showing live in your sim card manager.

And when you pull down the notification shade down both sim slot 1 and sim slot 2 should be showing what you've chosen both to use respectively.

Try swapping the sims around and make sure they are both seated properly.

Try and call both numbers to test them. Could be that one sim isn't activated?

Yes it's possible.

Have a word with your Networks Customer Services.

When I inserted an ee sim and o2 sim in mu phone it didn't like that I put the o2 sim in sim slot 1 for some reason so I swapped and put the ee in sim slot 1 and the o2 in sim slot 2 and then everything was OK @dsk05a

I had the same issue with mine on ID Mobile. SIM 2 wouldn't recognise it and it was grayed out, would still make and receive calls though. When I inserted a Vodafone SIM into slot 2 it recognised it. I think there is a possible bug with it that hasn't been sorted through an update.

Hello All,

Thank you for your prompt responses and I'm beginning to think now, thanks to your suggestions that the issue maybe with the iD SIM  in slot SIM2 or with the iD SIM altogether. As a last resort, which I haven't tried yet I'll swap the SIMs next

You could try putting in your ID sim in on its own first, switch on and let your phone set it up. Then shut down and put your 2nd EE SIM card in and start up your phone again? Hopefully as your phone will have set up your id sim already, the necessary settings will be in place so might set up both Sims properly? Just a thought hope it helps
