S23 plus Running hot and battery drain after update

Since I update the software to version 6.0 three days ago, my battery is barely lasting a day and the phone is always warm to hot even when not using the phone.

Battery used to never get below 30% after a full day of use, now its 30% after 6 hours!

I received generic answer to try emergency mode - if it helps, problem should be in 3rd party app. - advice to uninstall aps and if it doesn't help, then factory reset..

So I don't believe, they will do any inspection of sent bug report to point the actual root of problem in update...

Btw, in emergency mode is the phone calm as used to be, but almost no available apps..

Same issues here with overheating and shocking battery performance since the latest software update. Not using the device any differently and it barely makes it half a day now before dying.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, i thought it was just me. I'm doing a factory reset now. I'll try and remember to let you know how it goes.

Seems to have worked. I was draining about 15% in less than an hour but now it's 9 in nearly 2. Also not getting anywhere near as warm on charging or use.

It's a pain to restart everything again but I've also noticed how much utter rubbish I had installed!

Chiming in here to say I've experienced the same thing.  I'm avoiding factory reset.  Oddly enough, for me it started a few weeks ago, then stopped for a week only to return a few days ago.   I even visited the Samsung store and they found no issues.  Blamed it on my work profile.

Could not continue without making factory reset.... that solved the problem. And today Installed long awaited One UI 6.1. So far, going well. Battery life has been phenomenal. Heating issues gone. Camera fixed. Apps glitches gone...... At least for now....

My phone was covered under warranty. Got a new one, swapped all info and SIM and it's all good. For now.

Now it seems everything is again OK. While switching to emergency mode and back disappeared clock and health widgets. Haven't tried to set up them back yet. Or maybe some app update helped.. I'll try to setup also the widgets to see If heating will come back.

Today arrived UI6.1 and still everything seems OK. Hope it will last.
