S23 not showing photos of contaxts when receiving texts?

I upgraded from the S21 Ultra to S23 Ultra. My question is this. On my S21, if I received texts from someone in my contacts that had a photo, the text icon would show that particular photo. Now, with the S23, it doesn't do that. It is driving me nuts. I would love to know who texts me just by their photo, instead of having to open messages each time I get a text.

Thanks.

Click on the phone number
Add to contacts
Go to contacts and find the number and click on it
There should be a circle at the top with a camera in it
Click on the circle/camera, it will say go to photos/gallery and choose a picture 📸

That isn't what I'm needing. So, I've already had this contact in my phone for years with a photo assigned to it. Prior to upgrading to the S23, when that contact would text me, the notification icon for that text would be their photo. Now, it isn't there. It's just the default icon.

I'm wondering if deleting the contact and then reset it back up with the number and photo may help @Midnightivy

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care.  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
