S23 Not Charging

Hi there, as of yesterday my S23 won't charge when plugged in.

I've tried multiple charging cords (1st party) and the phone does not recognize it's being plugged in.

The same cords work fine on my wife's s23. Unsure how this would happen but seems like it's a software issue instead of hardware.

The phone hasn't been dropped, and moisture hasn't got in the port.

I updated right after I first experienced this thinking it would fix itself but it hasn't.

Right now, the only way to charge is wirelessly.

I am just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue since the latest update or if there is a quick fix.

I tried rebooting multiple times and about to try to format..

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK Community Forum

Sorry to hear of your issues. However it is "unlikely" to be software related otherwise we would all be having the same issue.

Has your wife's device been updated yet with the software update?

It is most likely to do with your charger or cable. Are you using Samsung original for both?

I'm presuming you haven't set up a routine or mode that is stopping charging?

Yes, I've tried a total of 4 different cables / ac adapters. 3 of which are 1st party

Ok so it may be an issue with your charging port....

You mention no moisture, not warning for this? Presume not.

You may have to reach out to Samsung Customer Services to book a repair for the charger port.

You could also perform a Wipe Partition Cache although I'm not convinced it will fix your issue

I will try that.

Just unsure if you can boot into recovery with the charger cord not being recognized

I've had this problem a few times. After getting the feeling the cable was never fully in and having copper oxide build up between metal contacts on older phones I gave the port a scrape with a plastic/wooden tooth pick. After getting a load of gunk out charging has worked fine

Have you tried the Diagnostic Area for your phone and tested wired charging in there?
