Hi @mommy_eds

The apps will have their own standard notification tones however you can choose another available tone via the apps preferences settings.

Settings > Apps > Choose the App i.e eMail > Notifications > Notification Categories > New emails > Sound > Choose from the available options of tones.

If the tone isn't available that you want then look to places like zedge.com where you can download tones for free and then use them for your preferences.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care.  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

As of 2024.06.15, none of the above directions work... There is NO way to change the default sound on ANY app. I've changed the default sounds for many apps many times... now, NOTHING~!~  The instructions are posted all over the Internet and they've always worked... now, there is no way to change those sounds....

@AF7U: Following the One UI 6.1 update, you will be required to head to Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings > Manage notification categories for each app, and toggle this option on.

Now, head to Settings > Apps > Select an app > Notifications > Notification categories > Select a category > Sound, and choose from the available options. This will allow you to assign bespoke notification sounds to individual apps. I hope this helps.

Thanks, Andrew, I appreciate your input. Your instructions worked great~!~ However, that said, why do you suppose Samsung, such a large company, with many IP resources, would allow UI 6.1 to create or perhaps disable that toggle? It would be akin to waking one day to find your automobile's brake peddle mysteriously placed in the trunk. Having the ability to change notification sounds is just that important.
