Just wondering if anyone else has noticed any negative issues since the One UI 6 update?

Main changes I have noticed as follows, I'll update as and when I come across any more

Battery
Battery drains much quicker
Fast charge has stopped working on non Samsung chargers

Browsing
Getting a lot of errors loading webpages or blank pages and some dead links in pages. My default was Chrome so I changed it to Samsung Internet but no improvement

Networking
My signal strength seems lower and the phone has more issues connecting to certain Bluetooth devices e.g sumup card reader etc ad-hoc i.e occasionally it's ok

I've noticed maintaining network connections as an issue a while ago even on the S22u but lower network strength is recent as the signal was always stronger on the S23u compared to others

I've given up on the NFC with my sumup app i.e scanning the card on the phone instead of the card reader. This was a really useful feature and worked flawlessly for a while but since a few updates is very rarely successful and returns errors reading card which gets embarrassing when stood with a client also with the S23u you need to reconnect the card reader quite frequently as the phone stops finding the reader. This never happened with the A54 5g I was running side by side with the S23u with the same software set up and reinforces suspicions around the S23u network connection consistency

Notifications
I did have a period of notifications just disappearing when you click to read them but been ok for a while

Apps
I have noticed apps sometimes close unexpectedly when changing focus to another app but not all apps e.g happens a lot when in settings but other apps seem to be ok

I've noticed a lot more apps continue running in background after they have been closed. It used to be one or two and since the update it seems to average 5 or 6

Camera
When editing photos (Cropping) there is an irritating delay between adjustments which if you don't wait between adjustments causes you to move the image and have to start over, really irritating

There are probably other little niddles I haven't noticed yet or forgot as I'm often out and about when I notice.

I've already done the cache wipe, reset networks etc

I recently got an A54 5g to try out for a work phone which seems to out perform my S23u on the basic stuff such as maintaining network and connecting to devices etc, which suggests to me that the extra functions and components in high end phones may cause additional challenges

I personally think the update process itself causes issues. I say this because whenever I get a new phone or do a factory reset regardless as to the software version the phones usually run like a dream and the glitches only tend to start as the OS or certain apps update. I wonder if the bug testers are testing updates on fresh installs only so may be missing some updating errors/glitches

I certainly don't intend doing a factory reset and fresh app installs after every OS update, that would be a nightmare as it's a major undertaking

Just some things I've noticed and thoughts

S22 Ultra here on One UI6.0. Notifications don't ways work, WiFi will not stay connected, battery is less than half what it used to be. Not worth the update IMO

Mine weren't working properly earlier. After I modified notification settings in a few of my apps they seem to have started working again and not disappearing. Try going to notification settings in some of your apps change them to off or on and see if it improves, it's easy to switch them back on or off afterwards

Samsung differently screw up with this latest software upgrade, my S22ultra worked perfectly before this, but now it's a heap of junk. Promise updates that makes them worse than they were before.

That's getting harder to find a samsung store that's open as they are closing them, like the one in Newcastle upon Tyne is at the end of this month. My local O2 shop closed last year

If I'm completely honest, I'm getting tired of Samsung high end phones. It feels like an ongoing wait for something or other to be corrected, which shouldnt be the case with such expensive tech, there's no way it would happen with other tech but seems to be the norm in high end phones. I have been trialling an A54 5g for a few months and despite it's disadvantages is way more dependable. I'm sure other brands have issues but I've never had one issue after another over such a long period with any other device? Seemed to start with the S20. I've never had to do cache wipes etc on previous phones. Problems used to be where I messed something up in settings etc or the odd app glitch. Maybe it's the high end phones that are more prone to glitches with so much going on and so many apps and functions combined with the rush to out do the competition. Things are probably not being tested thoroughly enough. Don't get me wrong there are some who never experience issues but there are a lot that do. I think Samsung are one of the best manufacturers of tech components but a big question mark goes over their ability to manage high end phones from me

Only Samsung repairer I can think of is EE. I suspect my nearest actual Samsung store would be in a main city centre eg Manchester or Liverpool in one of the large retail parks. It's probably more realistic to find an authorised repairer for most people e.g such as EE etc who tend to have shops in smaller retail complexes

I've noticed the networks connections dropping for quite some time on my S23u even with the S22u, I notice it most when streaming radio in the car i.e the No of blank spots when the phone loses internet connection. It's not as noticeable as other times unless your in the middle of something online or downloads pause etc. It does seem more frequent on Android 14

Thanks for your feedback. By non Samsung chargers I mean the high speed usb c connection on my pc and usb ports on my mains sockets, they always charged high speed before the update. However the phone has just received the Dec update and the camera edit bug has gone so I'll see how it goes over next few days, hopefully some of the issues have ironed out.

The main issue I noticed immediately was the ringtone volume control. Previously I could tap the sound icon on the pull down menu and adjust my ringtone volume. I can no longer do this and can't find a quick and easy way to do this so it is extremely frustrating as I use it daily. Currently having to resort to hunting in settings or using the media volume on the side up/down buttons and opening the volume panel to reach ringtone. Still fiddly for what used to be one tap.
