Not been in dev side of things but am a techy now working in IT but previously electronic design.
But been using Android since its first iteration when it was Cupcake on the HTC dream, back then using custom ROMs etc was handy for getting maximum RAM but also for overclocking, but had many a "squeaky bum" moment wondering if I'd bricked a device & believe me have done a few even with following guides.
Nowadays with the chipsets phones have, & the added protection of things like Knox, it just ain't worth it as wipes out warranties as they put counters to track bootloaders being unlocked etc. so can always tell... & not like old days where it was only £200 - £300 it's now a £1000+ brick!!!
Better to just have patience & wait for official beta or stable release... & don't be wanting it first as those doing beta at present may be wishing they not signed up. Think it was 2 or 3 years ago a beta was released & started bricking
certain devices & was pulled briefly, good thong was it was released in Asia & USA so they took brunt, by time reached old blighty it was fairly stable.
Don't get me wrong I'm waiting for beta as like trying new things, but I'm in no particular rush for them to push it if lots of issues.
