Samsung S23 Ultra updated today and I am seriously irritated with this update. First thing I noticed my navigation bar, I had the option of swipe or buttons. I have always used swipe for navigation and my recent apps were on the right and my back to the left with home being center. You used to be able to choose left or right for either. Now it is incredibly difficult to get to my recently used apps. Everytime I used the navigation bar it sends me to the home screen. If I wanted to go to the home screen I'd swipe in the middle. Everywhere does it now. Can't go back a page or to recent apps it all sends me home. There's an annoying period where you have to hold to get recent apps to show up. This is stupid and inefficient. Secondly it keeps opening apps up when I'm trying to scroll through my pages of apps that I'm not selecting just trying to turn the page and it's not responding correctly just opening apps. Very disappointed so far and will continue to notice things I hate about this update throughout the day. Wish they would revert the update.

The new swipe gesture really breaks a lot of workflow.
When the on screen keyboard is popped up, the Swype doesn't work and you need to extend your fingers. Bad design.
While looking at call log, swipe either calls the user from the list instead of going back. It's quite bad.

My phone just updated. I hate this feature on my wife's iPhone and have always preferred the android layout with the three swipe options. I am beyond irritated!

I just updated to OneUI 6.1, and I can't believe that Samsung removed a feature instead of adding new options. The new gesture navigation is annoying, especially for those of us who got used to the swipe gestures.
The fact that I had to install third-party bloatware to restore a stock functionality from the previous OneUI blows my mind. I don't know who the UX engineer is that decided to go down this route, but... man, what were you thinking? Honestly.

I am a 100% with you word by word. It's annoying and stupid. People keep mentioning Goodlock but from what I've seen It's clearly a third party app. Plus the permanent useless hint that does nothing but eat up screen space, I support everything you said. I wonder if more people have this issues and if there's a way to be heard by the developers

Many people are complaining about UI6.1 navigation, me included.
However, after using it a while, it doesn't seem to be that bad anymore.
Go back the previous page - just slide in the middle of the page from left to right.
Go forward - same, but slide from right to left.
Go home - slide up from the bottom bar
Close all apps, or see all open apps - slide from the bottom bar up to the middle of the screen, keep it there for a fraction of a second, then release. You can switch between apps, close some or all.
Basically all the previous functions are there, but differently.
Bonus, we have the new bottom bar.
Hope this helps.

still, forcing an interface change that changes the way you interact with your device without giving you an option to go back to how it was should not be something that is done.
if you went to your car in the morning and found out the dealership came and put your steering wheel on the other side of your car, and changed what all the buttons do on the radio, without giving you an option to put it back, that would be pretty unacceptable right?
I'm sure some people would love it, but it still shouldn't happen.

Fully agree, and this is the reason I included myself in the group of those complaining. But it's one thing to complain and not know what to do, and another to still be able to use your otherwise really great (and expensive) phone.

If I wanted to have my user interface changed, I would have purchased an I phone... or some other smart phone option. I use my phone as a tool for work.. A LOT! I need to be able to use it like my hand... without thinking about what I am doing. I should be second nature...
@SAMSUNG... do something about this... This has cause massive issues for me... I could have purchased a $50 phone and dealt with these issues

This is so bad Samsung, Apple used to be the only company i would steer people away from, you've gone beyond adding yourself to that list.
This feature was one of the only reasons to use the phone anymore.
