This is super frustrating and actually impacts my life in a negative way.
I have always used Google Translate for Selected Text Translation, but since the UI upgrade to 6.1, Samsung Translate suddenly took over.
I would very much like to have the option to use Google Translate again, because:
1. Samsung Translate just really isn't that good.
2. Samsung Translate doesn't give me the option to take Selected Text Translation into the main Google Translate app when I want/need to.
3. Samsung Translate doesn't support one of the languages I need!
Samsung Translate is, unfortunately, a half baked product at the moment and I am in no mood to be forced to beta test it until it might become usable and good sometime in the future, especially as long as it doesn't support all languages.
If anyone has a fix for that I would be very thankful...
...and by fix I mean how to disable Samsung Translate completely and be able to use only Google Translate again.
Please and and thank you.
Edit: I apologise for my tone, but I am beyond frustrated about this forced downgrade in quality and cannot understand why the right to choose which app to use has been taken away from all Samsung users.

I usually reads book in pdf format in English but some time need to understand the meaning in my own language "Bangla". I used s-pen translation feature for this with the help of Google but it's now removed. It's totally embarrassing. Please 'Samsung' back this feature from UI-7.

Spoke to someone from Samsung and it was the politest 'get f***ed' I've ever recieved but essentially the know about all of the problems, rickibg old watches, swappibg to google or other translates but the iu still using their, sneaky data transmission etc. But they dont care and wont be changing it any time soon. They claim 'more language picks will be available in the future' but they have actually removed some the note 10 had!
I like this phone but over the last few years ive started to really hate samsung as they follow applies buisness practice and think this is the last product of their ill own

this is a delibrate action by samsung to try and push google translate off their phone. its not coming back the way it was.
So s pen translate is essentially dead if you arent using one of the samesung allowd languages, and going by the german they have on there, its a joke for the ones it dose claim to do (tested with a work friend, and eves speaking slowly and clearly it was useless), but i need finnish every day which they dont support.
work arounds are.
remove samsung translate in the settings and select google in the translation servaces.
replace samsung keyboard with swiftkey
press and hold the home buttion to use google translate to quick translate the whole screen.
But if you have the option, return the phone and get a different brand. I say this not just because of this but its an actual trend in samsung consumer electronics as a whole.
I had a forced update to my tv that made the tV default to their own app and show news automatically (there was no samsung app when i bought the tv), with no warning! Dosent sound like much, but it resulted in a christmas with a 2 and 4 year old seeing dead bodies that had been shreaded in ukraine when they opened the tv by accident and the samsung app though that news was a good thing for 10am, then a few weeks of nightmares from my daughter, and the samsung responce... 'not out problem you agreed to that when you bought the tv'.

That's really very frustrating, not because I have to do 2-3 more taps to open Google translate but because this is definitely a deliberate strategy by samsung to force their customers to use their translate app and I find it extremely disrespectful. I thinking to switch to another device but for now I've decided to try one more time. So, I'll buy the new s25 ultra in order to check if they fixed this behavior and if not I'm going to use my "right of withdrawal" return the device back and switch to another vendor.

they haven and wont change it, they are forcing customers to use their ***** instead of something that workd (for me samsung translate has no option for Finnish).
Also i have noticed aside from bricking their older watches they seem to be creating delibrate compatability issues with other brands equipment. e.g. i have sets of sony and senheiser earbuds that the phone constantly disconnects from, but the older samsung phones have no issues with, but the new phone has no issues with the samsung buds.
As i said above, i wont be getting another samsung prodect, and i would reccomend almost anything over samsung now, they are essentially as bad as apple.

Translation: People, I write in Spanish because I don't feel like writing in English. There is a half solution: they have to highlight any text/word in Google and from there they press the 3 dots, an option appears that says manage applications, from there they mark Google translate (it has to be downloaded) then when they highlight something again in Google is going to give you the translate option first (that option is Samsung's, so don't press it) what you have to do is touch the three dots and choose the "translate" option that is within that menu. It's still a half-solution but it's something...

Tengo este mismo problema. También estoy muy frustrado. Haciendo lo que indicas he conseguido que aparezca la opción del Google traductor en Google Chrome, pero no en las aplicaciones que me interesan, sigue apareciendo solo el traductor offline de Samsung.
Translation: I'm having this same problem. I'm also very frustrated. By doing what you're suggesting, I've managed to get the Google Translate option to appear in Google Chrome, but not in the apps I'm interested in. It still only shows the Samsung offline translator.
