Please help me fix this im superly confuzed and if it helps my phone is refurbished

What device are you using?
Also have you tried go to settings > apps Google maps > data clear cache and data?

Make sure the device is all updated, latest software and Google play system. Make sure all apps in playstore and galaxy store is up to date. Make sure all permissions are allowed for location also.

Hi.

You need to allow all permissions for Google and Google services for this Feature and also enable location history etc.

I would start by going through all your settings in your Google account first and Google apps.
