When I bought S23 Ultra in Feb 2023, it used to take really good 200 mega pixel photos with image size starting from 50MB to 110MB .

But after the recent upgrade to latest Android version, I noticed that even 200 mega pixel photos size has been reduced to under 20 MB.

and no more high quality photos..

Is it because to project S24 Ultra camera by reducing the quality of S23 Ultra?

Hi there

Not seeing this as an issue myself. Still able to take 200mp pics and the file size typically about 150mb.

When you open the camera app, are you assuming it is set at 200mb? I found that it defaults to 12mb option.

There is also a setting in camera app Settings To Keep where you can keep high resolution on.

Yes. I enabled all the options.

I think you are confused between image resolution [mega pixel (MP) ] and image size [Mega Bytes (MB)]

Are you able to take a single 200mp photo with 50+MB image size like it used to take without reduction in image quality?

Hi there

Not confused at all. I took pictures yesterday using 200mp camera and each picture was about 150mb in file size.

I'm not sure if this helps but when you turn on the high resolution on the phone there is in the bottom right corner a button which says detail enhancer, I don't know what it does but maybe try and see if that works?

Unbelievable, could you please share us the 150MB image which you took on 200mp mode from your S23 Ultra?

Hi there

Please don't take this the wrong way, but you have now twice questioned my commentary on here.

Firstly you question if I know the difference between camera settings and file settings then now you question my integrity by wanting evidence to "prove" what I've put on here.

Your comments are not sitting well with me.

I have told you politely that I'm not having the same issues that you report. My word is my bond and that should be enough. Please be mindful when commenting.

Thank you
