Hi all,

It's the first time I'm trading in a phone for Samsung - do I need to send a charging cable/brick? I've read mixed information and the T&Cs don't really mention it - but some FAQ page did say that we should send the chargers... Any idea?

Cheers

Hi, @pagagagamate!

"Back up your files, photos and any other data, and remove your SIM and any memory cards. Samsung cannot recover any data from your phone after you send it. Please make sure to include the charger for your old device. If possible, please also include the box and any accessories.": Samsung Mobile Phone & Device Trade In | Samsung UK

Hope this helps!

Personally I wouldn't send in my charger unless you've brought a new one for your new phone, they don't come with one anymore but it's your choose.

I thought the point of not giving charging brick with new phones is because we have old one sitting around the house, if you return you won't have one. Also if you ungraded in the last few years, you wouldn't have a charging brick to send back

upgraded a number of times and never sent the charger  back with the trade in.  Never had any problems or been challenged by samsung. So no- you do not need to return the charger- just the phone

I was told a while ago that all they require is the phone itself.
The chargers cannot be reused or sold on.
Personally I'd send it in the box the phone came in if you still have it

Sign out of all your accounts on the phone.
Then factory reset the phone.
Take date stamped clear photos of the phones condition.

Then package securely and send it in
You get a specified time to send the traded phone in.
But it's best to send it as soon as you can as some have experienced problems leaving it to the last minute

Hope you enjoy your new phone and all it can do
