Google play store issue

Hi peeps so help is needed once again hahaha.

As u all know I'm not tech savvy lol 

I have a Samsung galaxy s23 ultra phone and Google playstore hasn't updated since Nov.

I have gone onto Internet and followed normal procedure ie clear cache and data etc on Google play store and also download manager.

However,still not luck with latest version of Google play store 🙄 

Is anyone else having the same problem if so help would be appreciated as it's also affecting me updating my other apps too.

The current latest version for s23u is 1st November. So you are up to date.

Yes we are still on november update (s24 ultra here)

Google play store has updates but they are not as regular as the operating system and security updates...which are monthly.

Google play store can get a few months sometimes... and only issued when there are need to update. So don't worry too much if it seems slightly out of date. You can check once every couple of months with the settings- about phone - software menu. If there are any updates then it will install.

I seem to remember that there was one during the last month that forced a reboot of the phone.

So under settings on my google play store under playstore version number is as follows
44.5.23-31
Showing underneath this number is update playstore.
When I click on this to update it doesn't update for me 🤨
That's why I thought there was a new update sorry for the confusion

Yeah by using that method within Google play, then if there is no new version it will not do any updating. But it doesn't really tell you why.

For clarity using the other route through the phone settings to access the Google play store update, will let you know if it is up to date or not.

One more thing I have device care etc to scan phone for viruses etc but is it wise to have a additional anti virus protection app 🤔

You can have one if you want to for additional protection. Personally, it's not really worth it as all samsung phones come with a pre installed anti-virus protection provided by Mcafee, and its free. If your concerned about your phone security. You can enable Auto Blocker by turning on maximum restrictions as this provides strong protection on your phone as this prevents your phone from getting malware and hacked. But it's best to stick to basic security practice by not clicking on unknown links on texts messages and emails. Make sure you regularly update your phone software and your apps on the Google Play Store.
