Friends, is anyone using an electronic SIM? What do you think? Is it worth switching to it? Is there a qualitative difference or is it the same as a physical SIM card?

There's no difference for normal use. Uk providers don't tend to support esim. I'd use it for travel sims if you go to a country your main sim doesn't have free roaming in

Though I will say, if you have an esim and someone steals your phone, they can't put your sim in their phone. Where with a physical sim they could. Though if you have an esim and your phone breaks, you can't pull the esim back out. A physical sim would be easier to swap.

Not in a hurry to start using it or experiment with esim. Don't see, for the moment, sufficient advantage

@Styop  I would agree with @arianwen27 , I have used an esim  only on a test Device.  There are pros and cons but I think esims are generally more secure but still not going to be fullproof.   convenience and flexibility are advantages  in being able to switch between different providers and can manage multi esims. However there are limitations and a number see the main advantage in being for travel purposes.  The technology though will become more popular in the future.

some information here https://esimcard.com/blog/travel-tips/is-esim-better-than-physical-sim/?srsltid=AfmBOoqhXHJZuAkFBIBs...

A few options for the uk, with Sky though you need to firstly have a physical sim before you can transfer. Detail here https://www.simsherpa.com/networks/esim-for-uk-sim-only-deals

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

My wife uses an esim when she is in Brasil, and just uses that while not having to remove her normal UK sim..
