EXTREME battery Drain in S23, after One Ui 6.1 (pictures attached)

Hello. I'm at a loss for what to do.

I updated to One UI 6.1 on July 26 and have the Security Patch from July 1, 2024.

Suddenly, my S23 phone gets much hotter, and the battery drains from 100% to 13% in about an hour and a half.

The phone has become unusable. It wasn't like this before.

Here is a screenshot of the battery drain from 2pm to 3:33pm:

I used to get around 10 hours of usage without any issues.

I've cleared the cache partition and even performed a factory reset, but there's been no improvement.

Did the update damage the battery? Should I replace it?

I'm feeling defeated because I rely on this phone for my business content.

Here are the battery usage screenshots:

Update: rebooted the phone and battery use is now normal: no sign of Permission Controller misusing the battery.

Thank you for reminding me about 'Safe Mode'—I had forgotten about it.

I decided to let my phone battery fully die, but I noticed something strange: when it reached 1%, it took about 30-35 minutes to actually turn off. Very weird.

Then, I charged it and noticed unusually fast charging times. I took screenshots as well:

Now, I rebooted in safe mode, and while in safe mode, it shows 59% not 100%!!!!!!!!

I think the update has caused a glitch with the charging and battery percentage.

The question is... How can this be even be solved? 😱 I've already done a factory reset and cleared the cache. I don't know what else to do.

The battery seems normal in Safe Mode, but I'll update if I notice anything unusual.

Use diagnostics in Samsung members app and contact Samsung tech support if any issues show up

Also, if can bear it, factory reset once more but don't restore app you had and see how it behaves. Could be an incompatible app

Update!

I didn't notice anything unusual in safe mode (checked for an hour). After rebooting to normal mode, the percentage is now displaying correctly. Everything seems to be fine now!

Thanks.

I recently updated to Security Patch 1 July / One UI 6.1.
Today my S23 ran completely flat to 0% battery.  Never happened before.
Battery useage shows the main culprit is Permission Controller using screen for 6h 5min.
Does anyone else see this ?  How do I stop it ?  And what is this App, is it Google or Samsung ?
