I've been having this issue for some time now and I've been unable to fix it. Essentially I have set my exceptions for my dnd where it's supposed to block notifications (no alerts + no pop ups) for certain apps for instance, Snapchat and Instagram messages should be blocked when dnd is turned on.

However, the dnd process doesn't do this. I'm just generally using my phone with dnd turned on and I still receive messages/pop ups from s Snapchat and Instagram. I contacted Samsung support regarding this and they gave me an option to factory reset my phone or reset settings which I have both done. Resetting my settings seemed to fix it for a bit till the problem became redundant again.

Now that this problem persists, I cannot seem to find a solution. This can be really annoying whenever I'm sleeping and set my phone to vibrate and dnd turned on. I'm only supposed to get notifications from the apps that I have allowed and blocked from the others but yet again, it doesn't do so.

Yes.. I've been through every setting a few times, problem is, it seems to be random and once in awhile when notification comes through, it turns dnd off.

Here is one thing I found useful from support

Here are the step

Samsung support

Here are the steps:

1. Make sure you turn off the device.

2. Press and hold the Volume Up key, and Power key.

3. When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).

4. Press the Volume down key several times in order to highlight "Wipe cache partition"

5. Press the Power key to select.

6. Press the Volume down key to highlight "Yes" and press the Power key to select.

7. After the wipe cache partition is complete, "Reboot system now" is highlighted. Press the Power key to res

tart the device.

Here is something I got from tech support, it fixes a few issues with my phone and I try to do it once a week, it's like a cache clean

I get this too! On my personal and my work phone. Explain that one. I think it's a bug Samsung needs to fix it. Fast!

This might not solve your issue but I wasn't getting ANY notifications until I would restart my phone, then ALL would come pouring in. Tech suggested this and it worked. I guess it's a "cache clear". I do it once a week or so and have had no more issues with missing notifications.

Make sure you turn off the device.

  1. Press and hold the Volume Up key, and Power key.
  2. When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  3.  Press the Volume down key several times in order to highlight "Wipe cache partition"
  4. Press the Power key to select.
  5. Press the Volume down key to highlight "Yes" and press the Power key to select.
  6. After the wipe cache partition is complete, "Reboot system now" is highlighted. Press the Power key to restart the device.
