Will you...

PLEASE stop making phones taller and wider than last year. Some of us still prefer more compact phones with 6.1"-6.2" screen for many reasons.

PLEASE stop making expensive phones for what they are. The competition is getting fiercer each year and you need to stay ahead but also price competitive.

As May bank holiday is coming It would be nice to have some discounts for your last year's Galaxy S23 lineup. Prices need be more realistic in line with model, release date , specs, etc.

And to please ensure the discount code when purchasing via the Samsung Shop app is working. Right now, it ISN'T WORKING.

PLEASE SORT THESE OUT AND PLEASE MAKE IT SO.

Cheers.

I'm the polar opposite and prefer BIG phones with BIG screens. I remember getting the S22 Ultra and subsequently the S23 Ultra and feeling somewhat underwhelmed by the dimensions. It's one of the reasons why I didn't go for the S24. If the S25 Ultra doesn't have at least a 7 inch screen ( and ideally 7.2~7.4), then I'll be disappointed.

I'm not going to argue with you on price, I guess everyone on the planet would like to see cheaper prices. They are expensive luxuries at the end of the day.

The S23 lineup is still a very popular option, and Samsung will no doubt be cashing in on it. But, yes, again, any sort of saving would be very welcome.

In regards to the discount codes, can you tell us specifically which ones are giving you problems? Hopefully, a moderator could also look closely at that for you as it may need feeding back to Samsung.

As usual I agree with @Robin999 here. I also prefer larger screens and thinking my next device may be a (non Samsung) foldable.

In terms of something closer to the 6 inch mark, you have choices already, S23, S23+, S24 and S24+ in the S series and a range in the A series. So your point doesn't really make sense as Samsung are giving lots of choice.

Price? I will agree with you here. Samsung keep their prices high but it you look on other sites such as Amazon (be sure to check the CSC code to ensure the device is for your region) then prices are much lower. You can also get decent refurbs from GiffGaff for around the £500 mark described as "nearly new ".

Thank you for your responses.

As a middle-aged person, non-mobile gamer, non-vlogger, non-streamer, with hands that have worsening arthritis/tendinitis (due to the nature of my work which involves quite a repetitive tasks each day) i found myself using the same number of apps in the past 2-3 years. And having difficulty with gripping and holding a phone I think my body have finally sucummed to the reality that smaller phones with a screen size of 6.3" or below, a diagonal of 158mm or below and a width of 75mm and below are the absolute sweet spot.

I'm currently set my eyes on the base Galaxy S23 simply because it is much cheaper now and it has a Snapdragon chipset. I'm avoiding the "Plus" variants because it's still a wee bit big for me and the base S24 because of the chipset and incremental improvements which i find may not be beneficial to my needs. Looked at the current A-range but again due to the size it's a No-no for me.

For £569 right now i could get a brand new Pixel 8. For under £350 a Pixel 7a. The base Galaxy S23 is currently selling for a whopping £699 still. Sure i can trade-in my S23 FE for £299 (as of writing|) but i can sell that for approx £350 on eBay right now. So, yes we can all agree the selling price and trade-in prices could be far better.

The code "APP5" when purchasing the Galaxy S23 via the Samsung Shop app simply does not work. I've raised this with Samsung few months ago but it looks like my complaint went into deaf ears which to be honest doesn't surprise me anymore as Samsung doesn't normally act on something too fast or too seriously. God knows why.

I rarely have a moderator responded to my threads here and it's just disheartening and disappointing to be perfectly honest which tells you what this company's priorities are really. I'm still hopeful. But pessimistically hopeful.

As i mentioned earlier I tried that code using the app but it does not work.

I can say that because in the checkout there is no indication of the applied discount.

if you can send me a screenshot of a proof that it is working then that would be great.

Just my two pence.

I also prefer larger phones, and this is the trend most people are going. Hence, lots of companies are ditching their smaller variants for bigger phones. So it's not really a Samsung issue.

Regarding the price, I agree Samsung charge quiet a hefty price but then also has one of the best deals on preorders and also later on during the year, so it is something to look out for.

As you have already guessed, the smaller S2 or s24 series might be more in your range, and the same goes for the pixel lineup.

Nowadays, there is still a lot of choice, and although I agree with your points, they are not necessarily unique to Samsung only.

Best of luck with whichever phone you decide to buy.

For Android phones, no one beats Samsung or Google period.

Technology evolves and the sad part is we are this so-called trend phase wherein phones are becoming larger & larger every year for some unknown reason which us mere humans simply cannot comprehend and will not be able to comprehend.

I appreciate it's not confined to just Samsung (heck Sony and Asus have jumped in with this bandwagon) but for some of us we STILL do want/need compact phones for reasons. Yes, I'm very aware there are choices out there tho the choices it would seem are getting sparcer.

If the trend continuous and the choices becoming less I believe the consumer will lose out in the end. Simply because of less choices. I'm not an economics editor or politician or science expert but a market with less choices simply is not good as it stifles competition and innovation. My two cents.

We can "pressure" Samsung by writing them a long email but i highly doubt they will ever listen as history and "trend" (pun intended) suggests.

I will try once more with this discount code and happy to wait for another week or so and might just grab that S23 whilst it's still fresh. And I do hope this is the last time I will upgrade.

In another 5 years phones maybe just be obsolute.
Augmented and virtual reality along with AI will transform how we access information.

We just might have smart glasses maybe something on a wrist and earbuds and jaut talk and see and do stuff hands free.

Look at Apple Vision or whatever its called. It's crazy. Samsung already has the technology and it have its own vr stuff like meta so it's now far away these bulky headsets will probably fit like glasses
