I have a Samsung Galaxy 23+. Recently, the phone stopped allowing me to save contacts.  I cannot save them from my call history or by creating a new contact.  I also use Outlook for work and it will not save if I choose to save to Outlook contacts or the phone itself. This is a huge problem and I have not been able to find a solution anywhere. I have restarted the phone and made sure that contact syncing is on.  Thank you for your help.

Hello @PinkDancer5678 and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋

Try a forced reboot by holding down the volume down key and power button simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it. When your phone resets, you will feel it vibrate.

If this does not help then try clearing the phone's System Partition Cache Files Section.

Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

You can also Clear the apps cache via holding down on the app icon and tap on i , and tap on Storage and Clear Cache.

Also try Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset All Settings.

If you perform a forum search you may find existing threads with some further help or guidence within.

If you're having trouble saving contacts on a Samsung phone, you can try these steps:
  • Sync contacts
Go to Manage contacts, tap Sync contacts, and then tap the three dots in the top right corner. Select Google Backup and sync settings and turn on automatic backup and sync.

  • Turn on sync for each account
For Google accounts, select the account, tap Sync account, and make sure the switch next to Contacts is turned on.

  • Check date and time settings
Go to Settings, then General management, and tap Date and time. Toggle on Automatic date and time and Automatic time zone.

  • Clear the app cache
Press and hold the contacts app, tap the I icon, navigate to Storage, and tap Clear cache.

  • Restore contacts
Go to Settings, tap Samsung account, tap Samsung Cloud, tap Restore data, and choose the device. Tap Restore, then Done.

SIM cards are not designed for storage and can only hold a certain amount of contacts.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎
