Hi guys me again...

So following on from my recent post due to battery drain since the last updates...

Took my phone case off to give phone a clean and noticed the back glass pushing out, battery has swollen... I can only assume this is due to the new software from the recent update as phone was absolutely fine before and battery was working as per

Over the past 3 weeks after update by phone battery has been dropping drastically, get to work with 100%, phone kept in pocket till Lunch time (4hrs into my shift) with no use battery is down to 70%... leaving work after my 8hr shift phone is down to 40% and during the 40 minute drive home after work battery drops right down to around 12% and dies this has been consistent since the latest update.. so must be the reason for the battery swelling hense the poor performance... im going to replace it myself as phone is now 2yrs 4 months and out of warranty unfortunately..

So all you guys and girls and what nots out there please check your phone over for any abnormal change in the shape especially the back of the phone as id imagine im probably not the only one who's got this issue and you may also have the same battery swelling that I have today, worth a check as battery could explode ill attach a picture

Thanks for reading

All of you who are having this battery/ update problem need to get in touch with Samsung tech service. They know about the problem but Sumsam doesn't make it public. I spoke with tech and they took the phone for repair. I got it back with some delays but I got back. It's working so far over 5 months later.

I've messaged them! I hope they can replace it free of charge as its definitely not user error inflicted it 100% due to the softwares that's been installed

that we always have to struggle after a major software update because the battery drains faster is mind boggling imo.

every year with every new phone and update is the same story

I would be careful with the phone. Swollen batteries can become very dangerous if not dealt with quickly. Also (not to state the obvious here) but it definitely needs replacing

Hi, yes as soon as I released it turned it off and removed the battery and then ordered a new one, all fixed and working now, phone was taken off charge 3 days ago and it's currently on 52% I've only used it after work for a hour or so so it's definitely 10x better now and how it should be

Thats brilliant to here mate! Good on you for fixing it yourself as I know its a very hard task to do. My device once had moisture damage and they did nothing to fix it. Just said that it wasn't in their policy to do so. I was so upset and angry. But Im glad to hear that yours is working now!

Cheers mate, all in cost me about £24, new battery, new rear glass adhesive and a new mobile repair screwdriver kit off amazon worked a charm!! That's a shame you couldn't get yours repaired mate, if you were able to open it up and let it air out and then maybe a little contact cleaner too might of helped, the back is really easy to take off and usually they can be saved
