Am i the only one that hates this new One Ui 7 update

I feel like Samsung is losing its light. I have been using Samsung devices for 10+ years and they were always brilliant and innovative. But recently this innovation has seemed to have completely stopped in favour of playing it safe by sticking close to 'Apples' design standard. The 2 companies have long borrowed features from eachother but i believe that Samsung is going too far with the imitations by making what is essentially the exact same apple watch ultra just called the samsung watch ultra, then pretty much copied airpods entire design language for the buds3. And now with this One Ui 7 update it feels like my phone is turning into an Iphone. Whats next? A new design language for the phone with 3 apple like cameras in that back and a rounded rectangle screen cut out🫩

Funny, Android 16 is implementing this very same trend then, after Samsung already has mind you. Again, so what if it's default? You expect the UI to confirm to your every single personal taste, despite customisations way beyond Apple? Just get out of your little bubble and realise that OneUI design encompasses more than a single person's narrow minded view of features and looks. The reason people buy Samsung is because of this freedom. If Apple made a better UI feature, so what? Samsung will use whatever it thinks works and looks best. They haven't failed to interest me (and millions of others) with their UI, OneUI 7 isn't much anything different.

You continue to misunderstand what im saying. This update is NOT innovative, it is bridging the gap between other manufacturers and adding in useless fluffy features so that the update can be called "fully fledged". I am saying that i wished Samsung walked its own separate path again instead of trying to please the largest amount of people because thats what makes the most money

So to put simply, you think Samsung aren't edgy enough? 😂🥺. Let's just ignore the fact Apple AI isn't even half of what Samsung is using or that the features, customisation, cameras are all innovated by Samsung. What else do you suppose this software update was suppose to bring?

See to me, all I read is you dislike Apple UI so much you detest Samsung "borrowing" their elements. The UI in OneUI 7 matches very closely to all elements implemented in previous OneUI all the way back to it's inception. If you draw issue with that, then it's a simple case you've never liked OneUI.

Im not sure why you are turning this into an emotional argument with nonsensical statements. I am a hugeee fan of Samsung and i think its sad to see the way the company is going

What you aren't understanding is that this update is made mandatory to "keep" up to date with Google's consistent updating of Android with bigger UI numbers. This trend is only going to rapidly increase in pace and there is nothing Samsung can control about this since Google are now forcing a 6 month major update policy. Updates rarely, if ever bring anything innovative, so I don't know what era of software you're thinking about, but this new UI doesn't do anything notably worse than any previous OneUI. You only focused on 2 Apple like changes, citing your dislike but completely missed several other key changes that have nothing to do with Apple UI. It's what leads me to believe you only care about being unique or anti Apple.

Just thought I'd add, the new UI has made my Tab S8 Ultra feel like new again. Performance is incredible and improved, look is the same but still different. Just a great experience so far.

The vertical scrolling app draw was something a ot of users wanted. Also it was a feature on many android phones from many years ago. Way before Apple started using that feature. So it's not coping Apple.

And search bar at a bottom in Apps drawer is an age-old desire of many users

It also is more logical since when you use it, the keyboard will be where your hand is. I never really get the idea of why having it at the top is better...

So far I hate every change to the UI 7. It's ugly, clumsy,  and the smaller everything just makes it harder to see or use. I have big thumbs but I don't want to have my phone in senior citizen mode just to be able to hit the buttons. And changing the app drawer was the biggest walk backwards. Yes you can switch it to custom mode to get the pages back. But then it purposely jumbles all your apps out of alphabetical order. I have had samsung phones for years and loved them. But I'm honestly thinking of trading in my galaxy going with a Google phone.
