About gallery, UI 6.1

"My Samsung S23 Ultra running One UI 6.1 no longer has the 'Recent Items' section in the Gallery app. The albums are all disorganized, and the Camera folder is filled with unrelated photos and videos. Even after restoring from the backup on my computer, the issue remains unresolved. What should I do?"

Thanks for the post! Hopefully, one of us community members can solve your issue.

If you head to Gallery > Albums > the three dots (top right corner) > select Essential Albums, you may find that it has been unselected and won't show. If that doesn't solve it, please let me know, and I'll troubleshoot further. Thanks!

On the Galaxy S24 series, the galaxy never had a dedicated page for recent images because, by default, all the recent ones are displayed at the top. If there is anything missing, it is the sorting mechanism (name, date, size, type, etc...)

Nevertheless, if you tap the three lines button, there is something called recent. As for organising media on your phone. I recommend using the file Explorer to do so. Also, the apps that produce media allow you to choose where to save the files (the camera, voice recorder, screan snap, WhatsApp....)

Open the gallery app. Click on the 3 dots, top right. Then click on select essential albums. Recent should be top right. Just select it then press save.

You can sort the photos in the camera album. Click on the 3 dots top right then click on sort.

So sorting is in albums but not in the general view. Nice. As I never really used albums

Only problems with the essential albums view being activated, is that it restricts showing every thing
