My grandson set my phone up with my fingerprint. This was OK until I wanted to switch the phone off. Now its asking for a 4 digit security code. As far as I know I've never had a code. Now my phone is locked and I can't use it.

Thanks everyone. I asked my grandson about the security code and he didn't use 4 digits but 6. That is what confused me. I can now get access and it is so simple to do. I felt I needed some protection from anybody stealing my phone and getting access to all my information.
