Until Samsung fix the anti burn in prevention with the status bar, here's a temporary (unacceptable) solution for now, you can use goodlock & quickstar to hide the icons, as you can see from my screenshots, no battery, signal, no WiFi icons. 👍 To hide the % you have to uncheck "show battery percentage" hope this helps until SCAMSUNG fix this ongoing issue that's been around since one UI 6.0 in October. No one wants burn in on a £1400 phone, especially not me, all because SCAMSUNG are too lazy to fix 👌
There might be people who say it's not really an issue but it is... If you use your phone for browsing and scrolling social media a lot... 5-8 hours a day.... Since October that's approximately over 500 hours of time the icons have been static on the display, luckily I'm aware and have minimised the risk myself and I also watch a lot of videos in full screen.
Thank you for taking the time to read, hope this helps all S23 USERS.

How would you know your icons aren't moving unless you checked? 🤔

But if I never experienced any screen burn, why would I need to?

It's like talking to a brick wall... The issue is with the icons... They are STATIC (meaning they don't move) on oled displays that is a bad thing because anything left on for long periods has a chance to burn in and cause permanent damage, think if always on display didn't shift every few minutes... Eventually would burn in... It's the same for the status bar Icons... In one UI 5.1 they used to shift slightly and never remain in the same place... Minimising the risk of burn in... In one UI 6.0... the icons have stopped shifting... So it's a cause for concern regarding burn in. My icons haven't burnt in because I've probably spent more time on 5.1, I'm always watching video's in full screen so icons are hidden. I hope you can understand this explanation.

It's not that I don't know what you're talking about, I've used and followed tech for over 30 years. The issue here is that unless it really proves to be a problem, it really isn't a concern.

Burn it take a long time to occur, it's not just on for a few hours

That's prob why they haven't rushed to resolve an non issue

No images are on for long enough to cause burn in

Date and times change, even if you have AOD that changes when you pick up your phone or makes a phone call

I know, but here's the thing, does he actually think Samsung aren't aware of this?

Maybe so

Alot of people get all worked up after reading website articles from people who aren't tech folks

Sorry for the confusion. I am not disputing that the icons are not being pixel shifted... and neither that there is a potential problem.

What I am saying is that pixel burn can take thousands of hours to occur and if the display is used constantly on a maximum brightness and continually without any breaks.

Even after an hour of Web use... a quick 5 minute break from the phone means it goes into screen save or screen off and gives a chance to have an off period. Also my brightness is less than a quarter of its potential brightness... further reducing risk. I use dark mode... possibly further reducing risk. Watching TV and movies turns off the icons which further reduces risk.

From what you are saying there is definately a potential for screen burn, but with the great quality OLED displays of today and samsung being among the best of those AMOLED displays, then this risk is very minimal.

However the risk is still there and samsung should fix this issue.

So the fact your signal, battery icon, WiFi ect have remained in exactly the same spot since October isn't concerning? Ok then. People would be quick to complain if always on display stopped moving. Let's forget the whole topic and issue and maybe in a years time we'll have permanent icons burned into the display 👌🙏🥳

Samsung think it's fixed when it's not. They've been saying this since December update.1708941269143.jpg
