Until Samsung fix the anti burn in prevention with the status bar, here's a temporary (unacceptable) solution for now, you can use goodlock & quickstar to hide the icons, as you can see from my screenshots, no battery, signal, no WiFi icons. 👍 To hide the % you have to uncheck "show battery percentage" hope this helps until SCAMSUNG fix this ongoing issue that's been around since one UI 6.0 in October. No one wants burn in on a £1400 phone, especially not me, all because SCAMSUNG are too lazy to fix 👌
There might be people who say it's not really an issue but it is... If you use your phone for browsing and scrolling social media a lot... 5-8 hours a day.... Since October that's approximately over 500 hours of time the icons have been static on the display, luckily I'm aware and have minimised the risk myself and I also watch a lot of videos in full screen.
Thank you for taking the time to read, hope this helps all S23 USERS.

@adamlee I have seen a few posts from you recently about this screen burn risk and the s23 phones.

It seems you have a lot of anxiety about this issue... I am not saying it is unwarranted or that the articles are factually incorrect, although can you actually see any signs of issues or screen burn on your phone ? Does the screen not go black and screensave after a few seconds of non-use ?

I also have the S23u and I honestly can see no signs of any potential screen damage or burn from the phone...

I do browse a lot... WhatsApp... video call and watch TV services. I can say that I don't change my usage behaviour based upon this screen burn risk.

Honestly I don't think this is as big an issue as the articles may suggest.

P.s. I am certainly not shutting your opinion down as we are all entitled to our comments and opinions 👍😉... if it would help you to feel more relaxed about using your phone normally then I hope that samsung fix this issue for the S23 series soon enough.

Kind regards
Smiley.

Most of these articles are probably A.I. generated FUD, much like these bot posts any time a new phone or update arrives. More often than not, they typically have no substance or have only affected a disproportionately small amount of users who just love to conflagrate the issue.

I'm just mad that it's taking them all this time to acknowledge and fix. 5months is a long time. Yes the display does go black when off but the status bar icons will never move. They are completely static. 5.1 had pixel shift. 1708904846825.jpg

Ok fair enough. All articles relating to this potential issue are very careful to state 'allegedly' or 'reportedly'... but there is no scientific testing results or any real complaints or cases of screen burn experienced in the handsets... or evidence that I have seen.

If it was factual there would be a lot mote data about this... testing results... whether dark mode or light mode is a worse condition... etc etc. I have yet to see any article with any factual evidence.

Additionally although some icons were using pixel shift, in all the samsung phones over the past 10 years or more I have never seen the clock move from LHS, the battery percentage and indicator on right hand side... none of these at anytime being reorganised or moved in the interests of screen burn.

I assume only a few icons are moved around periodically. But why does the battery icon or percentages not create pixel burn.

Again personally I think it is blown out of proportion, but I would be happy to see some actual evidence of real cases.

I will continue to use my S23u without any concerns of such issues until it is a proven problem and there are many cases or issues seen.

A lot of these articles in the android forums are deliberately written to create some debates and perhaps are not all entirely factual.

One UI 6. After several hours the icons are static. Trust me I've tested on both 5.1 and 6.0. downgraded twice. I'm not responding to anymore of your replies. Pixel shifting is BROKEN in 6.0. end of discussion. Take a screen shot of your homescreen. After a few hours check gallery and tap the image so your current icons overlay and see if they align perfectly or they've moved.1708907003850.jpg

It's odd because I spent hours on my S23 Ultra, over 4 months worth with OneUI 6.0 and never faced anything like that.

HERE IS PROOF FROM A MODERATOR THAT IT'S NOT FIXED. he was referring to January update... But neither did the February update fix it. We've had a couple security updates... That's all, no bug fixes included.1708908563671.jpg
