When moving photos from gallery to an album, they aren't deleting off gallery

Did anyone else experience this after the latest update? I used to be able to move pictures to an album so that the recent /gallery folder would be tidy and clear but now I have got all the pictures back in the gallery (they don't get deleted anymore when moved).

Is there anything in settings to change this back how it was last week? (Samsung s22plus)

Android and Samsung have really screwed the pooch on this one.  Now, although a big bother, I just hook the phone to my computer and physically move the files  to where I want them (Using the computer)  They didn't come back.

I just took over 500 images and videos at the Dragon Lights show.  I copied them over to my computer, then  deleted them from the CAMERA folder in the phone.  Then saved the images and videos I wanted on the phone, back to the phone into the folder I created for Dragon Lights 2023.  Was so much easier before.

This one issue kept me from purchasing the new S23 Ultra.  (My phone is the S22 Ultra 5g, 1m)

Samsung's shoddy support, and inabilty to address this rather large complaint base issue, cost them a phone sale.

Doing this removes the recent album, which means I can’t transfer the photos taken to correct albums.  We need a remove from recent choice, or once removed auto remove from recent. So what. You have suggested is unhelpful.

I am having the exact same issue. It is so incredibly annoying that my old, much much cheaper samsung could do this and my new s23 ultra can't! Ridiculously simple thing that should be working

When you first open the Gallery app, you will likely see the "Pictures" tab that shows all pictures from all albums.  ("Pictures" will show all pictures even if you have moved them to a different album.)

If you want to see only the pictures that have not been moved to a specific album, go to "Albums" --> "Camera".  (Camera is the default album.)

It would be nice if there was an option to make Camera the 1st thing you see when you open the app.

Is there a solution to this problem ?? Why won't the photos go from the recent folder once you've moved them to the folder you want them in

Hi everyone.... I just rang Samsung tech support and to move photos, you need to go via 'my files' and the DCIM folder.  Select what you want to move, then select destination.  Hope this helps.  Darn inconvenient when you can't move between photos/albums in the gallery app. Maybe iPhone next time!

THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM NOW SINCE UPGRADE, WHEN I MOVE PIC TO FOLDER ,I WANT IT MOVED TO FOLDER ,DID SAMSUNG JUST GO RETARDED? WHO DO WE CALL TO FIX THIS ISSUE ,OR ANOTHER APP & SAY GOOD BYE TO SAMSUNG EVERYTHING !!

Doesn't work ,why in world did they do this to us ,when u move pic to folder (not copy) it shoukd MOVE TO FOLDER ,PERIOD !
