Hi I can't access volume controls if my phone is off unless I have media playing. Doesn't matter whether the screen is off or on. I need to have media playing or my volume buttons do nothing if my phone is locked. Please give me a fix. Everything is up to date and it's stock UI. No mods whatsoever. Tried resetting too, but problem persist. Been like this since I got the phone a month ago.

Oh and also if I have media playing and other notifications the slider for the media is not showing unless I tap the time and go to the lockscreen widgets. This applies to all media playing apps. This only happens as long as I have other notifications. Meaning I have to tap into the lockscreen widgets to skip forward/backward in a track unless I clean all my notifications. Awkward.

Really weird issues. Please help/fix. Never experienced this on any other device.

I don't understand what the issue is? You aren't supposed to be control the volume if media isn't playing surely.

You want to be able to turn the volume of what? Nothing is playing right?

To put in scenario: You watch some media and lock the phone. Some time goes by and u unlock ur phone just to be blasted by high volume at an inconvenient time. Doesn't even need to be high volume. Maybe you're in bed next to your sleeping s/o, unlocking the phone to set an alarm but you happened to have locked the phone whilst using an autoplaying app like TikTok or Instagram, she wakes up and well... Awks.

It's just inconvenience sometimes not being able to adjust the volume whilst locked.

The problem is that is by design not supposed to accessible, so there isn't a way to fix it as you put it as far as I know

What you want if I am guessing right is to get Samsung designers to make that change

I'm afraid this is a community site so there are no dev watching your request

You can submit is via the feedback option on here

You could use the phone or camera shortcuts on the lock screen and then simply use the home button to avoid the issue completely

You can go to the emergency call screen and you can change the volume there with the volume keys.

This will probably work with your phone too. I use the Galaxy A52s and that's what I do. You used to be able to allow it in settings, but Samsung may have removed it since I cannot find the setting anywhere.

Thanks for the tip! It's a bit sad that such a basic feature isn't available directly on the normal lock screen and that you have to navigate to the emergency call screen to adjust the volume. 🥲 I wish there was a more straightforward way to do this. It just seems like a missed opportunity for convenience. Hopefully, they’ll reconsider in future updates!
