Using NFC on locked phone

Hi,
I wonder, why I cannot scan a NFC while my Galaxy S22 ultra is locked?
I think, this will be a new "security" function for NFC payment function, because I remember this works years ago.....
But it is a big disadvantage for using NFC for Smart Home applications!!
Has this function been disabled on newer android versions or did I miss a settings?
If it was introduced for payment security reason, I wonder if it could be possible to add the function "NFC active on locked phone" or to only apply this security function for NFC payment purpose and not for all NFC usage!?
As a convinced Samsung (Android) user, I had to let a friend (iPhone freak) show me that this works without any problems on his iPhone...., and Apple is also known that they take the topic of security very seriously.
That confused me a lot and I would be very happy if it would also work with my device.

I also wanna use NFC while my phone is locked...
I don't have any payment of sort installed that make use of NFC... 
I wanna use it (and GF) to trigger smart home rules.
Like 'hit NFC' at the door to turn off all lights, heating etc. feels like kinda stupid grabbing everything (phone, wallet, backpack,... and stop in the doorway to unlock phone. Granted i see the ppl next door more that way but still.

i could stick the NFC just in the right spot and shake/dance my hip to trigger it from my backpocket when it's possible to scan them while the phone is locked.

Fair to the security risks and they should give a pop up to warn ppl that when you enable this it's a risk etc

Hi everyone,
In the meantime I switched to an S22 Ultra and still have the same problem... It's really a shame that Samsung shows no interest in solving this problem, even though there is interest and need among users.
As much as I would like to stick with a Samsung Android, I am unfortunately increasingly wondering whether the next cell phone will be an iPhone after all, because using NFC is much easier and more convenient....

Yeah, I have so many NFC tags around the house, but makes it pointless since I have to unlock my Samsung to do it...

So I would definitely want this feature.

Are there any updates on this? Why does Samsung not have this obvious and basic NFC functionality? It would probably take no more than 30 minutes for someone in the dev team to implement.

I still can't find the option in the settings of my Galaxy S23 Ultra using the most recent version of the updates.
