Hi I'm just wondering where unused apps go when your phone tells u that you haven't used them in a while thanks in advance

They don't go anywhere, it's just Google closes the app till you open it again. It's to do with the apps permissions, so if you don't use it, I think it's after 3 months they put them asleep 😴

The apps are still there. Check the apps app, there is a list of apps on your phone and beside some of them it will tell you if they are sleeping or in deep sleep.

@type: Further to the above, please head to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Background usage limits, and you will find your Sleeping and Deep Sleeping apps listed here. 

To remove an app, tap on Sleeping or Deep Sleeping Apps > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Remove > Select an app by tapping on it > Remove. If you would prefer for this not to be automated, then toggle off 'Put unused apps to sleep'.
