Hi,
I want to keep my phone on silent for all alerts but for one specific contact I would still like to hear a sound alert when an SMS comes through, is there any way to do this on S22+?
Thanks

This should do it. How to set a custom ringtone for a contact on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone | Samsung Gulf
You can also make exceptions to the Do Not Disturb mode too - I like this, as I can make sure family can contact me, even when I have a schedule to disable notifications when I'm sleeping. How to use the Do not disturb mode on your Galaxy phone | Samsung Caribbean

Thank you. Not sure this quite does what i'm looking for though as that only relates to Calls and is just an option of playing a different sound for one contact and the normal sound for others.
What I want is for all SMS alerts to be silent with the exception of one contact which it would make a sound for....similar to how the do not disturb thing works I guess but I dont want to be in DND mode forever

Hmm, if you go into the Messages app and then into a specific conversation, you can click into the contact (details) and then choose Notifications. From there, you can choose a specific ringtone.
Note: I'm referring to the default text messaging app.

Yeah, but still, as with the ringtone that just plays a different sound than the others unless I went through and for every single contact I manually set them to be silent which I don't really want to do!
