Dear Samsung (s22, Ultra) users,

Since yesterday I am experiencing the same problem with my S22 Ultra 512GB, and I was so stressed. My phone was continuesly rebooting, and I could not start my phone anymore. I haven't had anything back-upped which made everything even worse. I could almost kill myself (not literally), and was feeling so bad knowing that all my pictures were gone.

But, I was looking through different forums and couldn't really find a solution. My phone is still under warranty, so I was so close to handing my phone to the Samsung dealer untill my phone was finally working for longer than 20 minutes. That made me interested. Why is it working now?

Here in the Netherlands it is really cold outside (4 degrees celsius), and I could link that information to one comment that someone gave on a forum about keeping the phone in the freezer. Now that I have placed my laptop and phone outside (in cold temperatures), I was finally able to back-up my files again. And I have to say, it works.

I think this updated created software that is too powerfull for this hardware, which created overheating for the components (CPU especially). For what I have found, not everyone is experiencing this problem. So for the people that have been hit by this constant rebooting problem, the CPU might need a reballing (to be able to work again for the long term).

and for the short term, if you are just like me, put the phone in a cold, (really) cold environment to be able to make a back-up of all your digital belongings so that the CPU can function again without overheating. I hope I am the first one that can make a change, and help people to save their photos and files!

This is also a lesson for myself to always, or regularly backup my stuff. For now, this is what I can share with everyone from my experience. Personally I am going to factory reset my phone after everything is backed up, and get the motherboard replaced. Because that is the main issue right now.

Hope my phone works well again after that!

While it's working. Back up your data

After that. Have you tried Wiping the Partition Cashe on the phone?
If you haven't, it's a very good idea to try.
May not fix it. But worth a go

Luckily everything has been backed up now.

I don't think wiping the partition cashe will do anything good, because I have read a lot of people that did it, but did not had any positive effect.

I will get the motherboard replaced soon..

It takes two minutes to Wipe a partition cashe
Worth a try and might save you any repair bills.
If it doesn't then at least it's worth trying

It won't work. I've cleared partition and reset phone. MB is damaged.

Mine started having problems after the update as well. I managed to back up everything with the combo of keeping the phone in the fridge as well as on a ziplock bag filled  with ice cubes and water. After a few hours I managed to back up everything.

However, the motherboard needs replacement and the warranty expired two weeks before this happened to me. The cost is around 400€ and I do not really see me paying for that as it is around a third of a new phone. Just disappointed in Samsung, because they managed to crash a whole series of phones with an update and don' t even want to acknowledge it...

Same problem I had after the 6.1.1 update. Don't bother trying to fix it with software. It's almost certainly the motherboard; it needs replacing. I've tried everything—flashing the new system, factory resets several times—and after a few hours, same issue. I managed to back everything up to an external drive using Smart Switch, and wiping the cache and turning off Wi-Fi helps keep the phone running longer. I got insurance so replacement won't cost me too much, but Samsung should take responsibility for this issue, especially since the phone is less than 3 years old. If that's a top-quality phone, what quality are lower-priced phones? 🤔 #Samsung #Motherboard #PhoneRepair #SmartSwitch #TechProblems #Warranty

Same problem as well. Really disappointed since I am out on a business internship and it has costed me a lot of headaches to figure this out. Like everyone here, I too tried all possible solutions including meeting a technician at the Samsung service center who told me the only solution is to have the MB replaced and that it is just better to buy a new phone.

Exactly same situation for me. My phone stuck with bootloop post update. Reset and clear cache nothing works. Now it just keeps bootlooping as long as it has charge and then dies.

What an horrendous company this is.

Agreed 100%. Samsung should atleast offer a exchange option. This is heartbreaking. Horrible service by Samsung. Just lost trust with this brand.
