Good day all,  I have always been a Galaxy/Samsung fan. All my TV's have been Samsung as well, but I am so disappointed with my new phone. I don't buy new phones when they come out and usually keep my phones until they break, but I saw the pictures taken with my sister's new Iphone and thought that a new Samsung phone might be worth it for the camera, I am wrong.

I found that the S8 that I traded in to get the S22 Ultra took way better photos. My friend has the regular s22 and we compared side by side since we both have had Galaxies for over a decade and gone on many trips together and taken countless photos. The photos we take have always impressed us both. Lately I have found that the photos he has  taken are so much better. Even better than the S10 he had and the S8 I had. We noticed the difference especially when I enlarged them on the phone to see details. The S22 Ultra, ultra-pixelates the photos. I have had to send the phone back once since night mode was not working. A few months later, I  am in the process of sending the new one in because the GPS and voice text don't work. Both phones were in their first months of use.  I may switch back to Apple.

My very first Samsung S22 Ultra and Galaxy watch experience,

Both exceptionally unstable, my up to now experience is, what works today won't work tomorrow, just hit and miss affair

I had never never never had such experience with Apple

I will live with these two items few more months and then.. Till the end of my life back to Apple

It is good to have a choice(s). For me, current S22U works to my satisfaction

Hi @Foreverteachable

I'm sorry to hear your unimpressed with your new phone.

I'm just a point and click type of photo taker myself but I do find my Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra takes nice shots.

Maybe we all see different things in a picture the same way as audiophiles hear different from others when it cones to music.

The phone has worked seamlessly from launch day too bit I do accept that as with other makes of phone's people can and will encounter issues and glitches even with Apple and their iPhones  !

The choice of make and model is entirely at your choice to what ticks your wants and needs boxes.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care.  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Hi @Foreverteachable  I am sorry that you are disappointed with the S22 Ultra, whilst true that some have  issues  a number of Members  have a different experience.  of course there will be some defective units out there.

In general terms though the camera on the S22 Ultra is considered  to be a significant improvement on the S8.  One article here https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/galaxy-s22-vs-5-older-samsung-phones-is-an-upgrade-worth-it/

In this Digital Camera World  Review The S22 Ultra rates well, it does come behind the Pixel 7 Pro but ahead of the iphone 14 Pro. https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/uk/buying-guides/best-camera-phone

Realise it is still somewhat subjective and there are obviously customers who prefer the iphone system , whilst I used iphones in the past I welcome the customisation of Android and find the Samsung experience more rewarding.   However we all have a choice.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
