Screen keeps turning off

When I held my hand over the front camera during normal use  the screen went off.

The above paragraph is in past tense because I restarted my phone and this didn't happen any more.

My questions.are:

Is has anyone experienced this?

Is it a setting that I've set?

Have I found a fault that's going to reoccur? 

Please help if anyone has the answer to this and I'll update if it happens again

I am not currently facing this issue.

Thankfully it's only happened the once and the phone restart sort it.

I went into the Diagnostic in the Members App and my phone passed the Proximity Recognition.

Hopefully I won't experience this again

This happened to me as well and it got sorted after restarting. I checked the phone and whatsapp apps by force stopping them but it didn't help.
