Bixby routines not working

I am unable to get Bixby routines working properly.  I sent it to use the edge lighting whenever I get a text from a particular contact and it just doesn't work.  Tried looking though all my settings and I cannot see anything that is wrong.  Is there some mistake I am making or is this app just not very good?

From what I read Bixby Routines work pretty well although I choose not to use Bixby at all myself.

Perhaps remove the routines and set them up again.

Make sure edge lighting preferences are set right again too.

@Jeff-Alien: Please can you confirm if you have applied the following settings? 

Settings > Advanced Features > Bixby Routines > Add Routine > If > Message Received From > From Specific Sender > Select Contact > Then > Effects > Edge Lighting Effect Once > Add your Effect, Colour and Duration > Done > Routine Name (edit to your preference) > Done.

Settings > Notifications > Brief >  Brief Pop-up Settings > Show Even While Screen Is Off (toggle the switch to the right).

Same problem.

Routines work fine on my £700 S20 FE. Got the brand new, all improved S23 Ultra and routines absolutely do NOT work. Shame.

I agree, my S23 ultra for WiFi off on away from home is very unreliable...disappointing for a very very expensive phone
