Samsung Gallery showing gray box with icon, but photo correct in all other apps.
I have been to Samsung twice at Homebush, the tech has even seen this on his phone but they have no idea of the problem, want phone for a couple of days next week, S22 Ultra 1tb, done complete reset, seemed to fix for week before September update arrived now back again. All other apps can read images except default Samsung Gallery App

@KevinGuest: Please can you try heading to Settings > Apps > Gallery > Force stop > Storage > Clear cache, then restart your Galaxy S22 Ultra? If the issue persists, open the Gallery app > Tap the 3 lines in the bottom right > Settings > Cloud Sync, and toggle this off if it's enabled, just in case the issue relates to an incomplete backup.
For clarity, were the affected images captured using the default Camera app, or are they downloads, or imports from other media apps?

Thanks tried all your suggestions, 4 out of six new photos were grey boxes.
Using default camera app and other gallery apps display all 6 images correctly

Try also Good Guardians apps from galaxy store then use Media file guardian to scan and repair images if possible

Sorry, cannot find the Good Guardians apps in either store

Samsung have re flashed phone, seems ok but time will tell
