Hi, has anyone else gotten this problem after the most recent update? There is noticable burn in on my S22 Ultra, it is definitely a software issue, as before update there hasn't been any burn in. I've seen a similar post, but the solution hasn't worked for me.

I've tried restarting the phone a few times and also clearing cache, repairing apps but nothing worked. Please is there anything else I can try?

If you have "burn in" then it cannot be removed, nor can it be a software issue.

I'll have to disagree, there was not a single sign of burn in pre-software update and now it's noticable. Moreover, it's not visible on the lock screen, which is weird. This may mean it's not actually burn-in, but some software issue, however it's most similar to burn-in so that's why I wrote described it like that.

im not saying your wrong or right, but i highly doubt that it is caused by "software" considering its caused by something being on the screen for a long period of time. SmartSelect_20240226_174000_Google_1000004918_1708969201.png

I don't want to come off rude, but I think you have not read my post. I am aware that burn-in is usually a physical defect, but I am saying that it appeared out of thin air (aka software update). In 5minutes it went from 0 to noticable in a few areas. I am seriously doubting this is a physical defect because of this, if it is, then oh well...it's ridiculous.

Burn in is a hardware problem and cannot be caused by a software update
You say clearing the cashe. Have you Wiped the Partition Cashe on phone?
You can also go into the phone dialer app. Dial *#0*#
At the top are three different colour screen tests.
If whatever is still showing, then it will be a hardware problem

It could be an app or theme causing the problem

Id take it to your nearest samsung centre, so they can have a look at it, and im aware your not being rude. im just telling you that i cant see a software update causing a physical issue

Unfortunately the phone isnt under warranty anymore so they'll just charge me a huge amount for screen replacement which isnt needed. I find it weird too, so that's why this probably isn't burn but some software artefact.

Yes, I have wiped the cache partition. This is visible on that screen, but it isn't a hardware issue for sure. I know that, because on a lock screen the "burn-in" isn't visible, only when I start unlocking the phone you can see it.
