S22 Ultra Boot Loop Issues after 6.1 UI / Firmware update. Your Motherboard is Fried!

I’m posting because the boot loop issue after the One UI 6.1 update is clearly widespread, and I want to gauge just how big this problem really is.Is anyone else dealing with a bricked Galaxy S22 Ultra or a constant boot loop since the update? I keep seeing new posts about it almost every day.

My phone was working perfectly fine before the update. After installing it, it suddenly stopped working. Now, it’s stuck in a boot loop, and on the rare occasion it gets to the home screen, it crashes and starts looping again. i took it to service center but they were of no help, they say the motherboard needs to be replaced and idk the numerous motherboards they’ve already replaced due to SW update world wide?

The pattern is obvious: this update has caused widespread failures and they are now charging for repairs wherever possible. we can take logs from the phones showing the update in question followed by recovery reboots immediately afterward.

It’s outrageous that a premium 1 lac phone has failed in 21 months, and Samsung’s response is a Rs 41000 repair quote for a phone!

That said, I’d really like to hear from others, especially those in India but also worldwide, about how you’re handling this situation. If your phone is out of warranty, you’ve been denied a warranty claim, or you’re experiencing this issue, please share your story.

Adding your voice helps build a stronger case and puts more pressure on Samsung to finally take responsibility for this widespread problem.

Hello there! I was in the exact same boat but now my phone is back to normal and working for weeks with no reboots. It got so bad so I was willing to try anything to get my phone working. I still can't believe its back to normal

This is the Youtube Video I followed. I went through all the steps (the guy will tell you to try the next step if it doesn't work) because at the time none of them worked except the last step 🥶 You need to leave this for 20 minutes

My phone lasted about a week and relapsed twice but I went straight to the last step both times and phone worked again. Now its been weeks and no relapse or reboot of any kind.

Hope this helps! 💛

How long did you take in-between each step? And for the last step you need to leave the phone for  20 minutes is the magic number for me.

I also left my phone for an additional hour or two after

but i am still so surprised, what quality and user experience is samsung offering... we have to freeze our phones to make them work for some time and it crashes again!?

I'm sorry to hear that none of the steps worked for you. Hopefully the new update will fix this for people. I noticed a new update was available since my phone has been working

And yes you're so right about the lack of support especially for those still dealing with this issue

Word for word. This is exactly what happened to me.

Stopped by the Service Centre and they said the exact same thing.

Unbelievable. Bricked a perfectly good, mint phone.

In November 2024, I encountered a similar issue with my Samsung S22 Plus. On November 20th, the device began restarting randomly without any consistent pattern. By the early morning of November 21st, the phone became stuck at the boot screen and failed to power on. After some attempts, it did power on, and I managed to back up all my data.

I proceeded with a factory reset, but during the setup process, the device began restarting again. After approximately three hours, I was able to reach the home screen. However, I encountered a new error message stating that "One UI has stopped working." Although the frequency of restarts decreased, the One UI error persisted, leading me to suspect that the One UI malfunction was the cause of the auto restarts.

To troubleshoot, I installed a third-party launcher and force-stopped One UI. This action stopped the restarts for three days, indicating that the issue was not related to hardware.

Despite this, the One UI error reappeared when using Samsung-related apps, and the phone resumed restarting and entering a boot loop. I took the device to a Samsung service center, where they performed a factory reset. However, the issue remained unresolved, and I was informed that the motherboard might be at fault. I was not convinced and declined the proposed hardware repair.

Eventually, I was able to resolve the issue, and the phone has been functioning normally since December. Below are the steps I followed:

  1. Reinstalled the Galaxy Store app.
  2. Updated all Samsung-related apps to their latest versions.
  3. Disabled the Weather app/widget.

After completing these steps, the One UI error ceased, and the restart and boot loop issues were resolved. I suspect that One UI has dependencies on certain Samsung apps for proper functionality. I hope this information proves helpful.
