I don't think there is a solution that you can use as a troubleshooting step if the issue is due to altitude @Baloobb
Is the sound OK if you use Bluetooth earbuds etc ?
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

This just happened to me too. I agree with you, but I am also so stoked that opening up the SIM tray actually fixed this. Thank you so much for sharing.

I had this issue too. I tried taking the sim card out and unbelievably it resolved the issue. I imagine it's some kind of internal pressure issue. I will wait to see if it reoccurs.

I have the same issue. Got my S22 december 2022 and i noticed the sound sometimes crackling. Now I went on holiday by plane and it has been a huge issue.
I always get samsung phones and never had any sound/volume issues. Only battery issues after a while..

Have you tried taking the sim card out and putting it back in. I had to do this twice and it seems ok, for now.....

Opening the sim tray, taking it out and putting it back in again fixed it instantly. Paper clip now on holiday packing list 😂

My wife bought a refurbished S22 and has been running into the same problem. Popping SIM card in and out fixes it.
It's an air pressure thing, which is why it happens when you travel. Make sure you bring a paper clip with you.
I can duplicate the problem by putting the phone in a cold refrigerator, or letting it sit in the sun on a hot day.
Apparently happens in S23 and S24, -- the S25 I don't know.
The manufacturing fix would be to make sure the air pressure on both sides of the internal speakers is equalized. This could be done without compromising the water-tightness of the phone. At least other manufacturers have figured it out.
I noted in this thread that someone actually cut the ring that seals in the SIM card.
