I am a HUGE samsung fan but what they have doing lately since the s21 series has been absolutely idiotic, making me think of changing into another brand (never thought i'd say this). I have been using the s20+ for 2 years now and last year i was going to change to the s21 ultra and before purchasing it i decided to go to the store and try a camera comparison and it turned out it was absolutely TERRIBLE (exynos) so i decided to wait for the s22 ultra and i was super excited to upgrade (even though i can't find the 1tb in my country, product distribution is really messy this release) BUT !!!!!! i went to see the phone in hand besides the new design etc. I compared the cameras and yet again my s20+ was much much better when it came to quality AND it was the snapdragon variant. Detail was like a 2 year step back. OFCOURSE samsung knows something is wrong but i don't know why they aren't doing anything, maybe they don't want to drop the 108MP branding... i don't know, looks like i might not upgrade to the s22 ultra AGAIN and go to another brand ?

Hi @Kairui
Of course you are entitled to your own opinion.
I have been an owner of the Exynos S21U for a year... and i have to say I disagree with your comments. I am sure many other owners would also disagree.
I would say that at the release time in January last year then the image quality and camera issues were not great and some bugs needed to be fixed ... but through a few months of updates, the camera went from having many issues, to being a great camera setup.
You mention you went to see the phone in hand for the S22 ultra ? Where was this, and how much testing did you do on it ?
I would be careful not to draw conclusions based upon a brand new release phone... often some bugs need to be ironed out. The phone you saw could also be an early evaluation phone. If I were you, I would give it a few months for the camera software to be tweaked and improved and try again for a test.
If you have already made your mind up, then I hope you find the phone that will supercede your S20.
Kind regards
Smiley

Hi there, I have had an S20 Ultra for 2 years now and after the first 3 months, the cams failed. However, they replaced the cam unit and it's been an amazing cam since so much so I sold my Nikon SLR. Having now had the new S22 Ultra for over a week now, when I take a shot using 108mp as I used to do with the S20 when I zoom in the pic quickly has reduced pixel quality and is very disappointing compared with the old S20. At this point, I am considering sending it back under my cool-off period. So never mind "draw conclusions" This new phone is nowhere nr the cam quality of my old S20. Software updates, early stages bla bla... No I'm sorry, the S20 was performing from day 1 as it should, apart from the cam unit failure and this was done under warranty.

Wait?!? Did you say the S20 Ultra was performing from day 1? I had the S20 Ultra from from day 1 and I can say confidently that it was no where near to performing as it should and does now. In fact, it took several updates to get a moderate improvement in camera performance.
