Problems with GSM network on Galaxy S22 Ultra

I received my Galaxy S22 Ultra 512GB, Exynos version, over a week before official release date. As I was using the phone I discovered several bugs with my unit, screen blackouts, occasionaly freezes, conversations loosing sound, phon not reachable over GSM network even if my signals was good. I decided to wait until official release date to see if new software would be released. On the 25th Samsung released new firmware for my phone, and I did a complet factory reset after new firmware was installed. I am now on firmware S908BXXU1AVBF and fresh phone setup.

My screen problems seems to be gone, but GSM network issues are still there. Several times I have been made aware of that my phone can not be reached by callers, even if phone is showing signals. Solution, reboot. Turning on and off flightmode did not help. Also I am experiencing sound dropouts during calls, call is not droped but sound oth ways are lost, duration 10 - 15 seconds. Also when making a call the phone uses much longer time to set up the call than other phones I have had. Calling my self from other phones give simular results, setting up phone calles to my Galaxy S22 Ultra take much longer then calling others.

Have been in contact with Samsung support, but there is no help to get there. Try this, try that, over and over again. I am starting to loose my patients now, and its impossible for me to have a phone I dont know if I can be reached at, and when I manage to set up a call, sound is lost several times during the call.

There is a notice about "improvement of stability" ... finger-crossed 🤞

P.S.: There is notice, that it will be not possible to roll back because of security reasons ... I do not remember if this was last time too.

It seams its a hardware-error and cant be fixed with an update.

OMG, my phone is fixed with 25MB update!!! So, not an  hardware error!

Maybe you have it not extensive tested or the error will come again in the future - after the warrenty period 🙂 or other factors has also changed. 

Some will not get this 25 MB update and have to exchange the phone.

I have not received the 25MB.

Today after the May update ... still no call drop.
I noticed GSM lost and auto-restart.
The worst is that I missed an exit on the highway because of a GPS outage ... NEW BUG for me 😠

P.S.: (just idea) It seems that bugs have something together with the number of active SIM in the phone = who has more than 1 active SIM have bugs

I have 2 active sim cards and as I have said many times, never any problems! And Bogo1, isn't it possible that some series of phones are hardware defective and others aren't? My example shows just that, and some also have problems despite the 25 Mb update? !!

Yep. Received the update today. For about an hour it looked as if the problem was solved. Rock steady 4G data. Then it started dropping out again, requiring flight mode to be briefly activated to bring it back.

May Update done - S22 still faulty.

Snapdragon s22 ultra here in South Africa. Also having GSM issues at my workplace - no alterations to building in last 6 years and since owning the phone signal has been almost nothing at work. Zero to 1 bar on 4g, have disabled 5g. Tried new sim and in sim2 and no improvement. On latest update with 1 may 2022 security. No 25mb update so far.

One thing to note is on my phone the securing tab is missing from sim1 on the tray (the small plastic piece which holds the sim in place) so was very hopeful that swopping would change it.

Still getting people calling and phone goes straight to voicemail. Distorted voice calls and messages not coming through. Other people on same network here no issues so I think it's the phone.

Same thing with my S22 Ultra Exynos. I have the latest updates, changed with another SIM card and still I have connectivity issues when on a mobile network!
