Poor call quality for outgoing calls

I have had an issue with outgoing calls for years, this has affected both my previous Note 9 and current S22 Ultra. It's worse when using via bluetooth or Android Auto. Outgoing calls sound like old muffled analogue, despite the VoLTE icon being present. If the same person calls me back immediately the call becomes crystal clear.

I have a Garmin smartwatch and disconnecting this makes no difference. I do not have Modes & Routines enabled. I have also tried different Sims and network providers. Does anyone have a suggestion, as this is driving me a bit nuts. Thanks!

If youve been having this with different phomes, it's likely not to be the phone at fault but issues with the Carrier. I would report the problem with them

Thanks for the reply. I have had this issue with both Vodafone and EE. EE also sent me a replacement Sim to try but this did not help.

Sorry to hear of your issues. As has been said, this is more likely to be a carrier issue. You may simply live in an area or not spot with limited coverage.

Have you tried enabling WiFi calling to see if that resolves the issue for you? 👍

Hi, in my experience some networks have issues with VoLTE calls.
Usually the call starts off okay and then it sounds like you're underwater.
Try turning it off in settings by going to: connections - mobile networks, turn off 4g / VoLTE calling.
If the setting isn't there, try contacting the network and see if they can turn it off.

Hi, I have wifi calling enabled permanently, but no joy.

With regards to turning off VoLTE, what advantage is there to this? Won't this just make the quality of both incoming and outgoing calls terrible?
