Hi, all new here, I've tried searching Google and other forums but have had no luck. My Husband bought a Galaxy S22 a couple of years ago, he's recently upgraded again! When we were setting the phone up, it seemed as though the device was already registered to a woman in/from an Asian country. Has anyone else had this issue? He continued to use it with no problems. Just thought it was strange.

I'm presuming your husband bought the upgrade 2nd hand? If so it looks like it wasn't reset before being sold.

If it were me, I would be cautious and would either Factory Data Reset the device or return it.

Don't use any banking apps until you've resolved the issue.

If device is registered on samsung website under other person's name you can re-register

"Device ownership can be changed by resetting the device, then re-registering the device under the new user’s account.

If the owner of the device is changed, the previous owner can no longer use the device"

No, it was bought direct from the EE shop, brand new, straight from the factory in 2022. He used it for 2 years and just upgraded to the S24 Ultra. He's had no issues with banking fraud ect. Just peculiar 😕

I think you've confused my comment. It related to the new phone which I presume he got this year. Did he get that brand new from EE as well or did he buy it elsewhere?
